Amazing place. Thanks Kate for the kindness and the free shots! Thank you DJ for the Karaoke, there is also à very cute beergarden. We happened to have the most outstanding time. Nice People, games, good songs and reasonable prices. Again, Thank you !!! (From yesterday's bday gurl)
C'était juste parfait !!! Merci mille fois.. Une ambiance de folie et un accueil juste exceptionnel. Je recommande grandement. A pure british pub where you can sing and dance freely Thank's again Kate for being so nice ❣️
Latimer Road £4.80 Amstel A Tight Knit Community Flat Roof Boozer. The Pig & Whistle is located on the edge of the Silchester and Lancaster West Estates in North Kensington. The nearest Tube is Latimer Road which is a two minute walk away. The Pig & Whistle is an unusual name for a boozer and there are many explanations for its origins. The most consistent one I found is that it originates from Anglo-Saxon times, “Piggen Wassail”. ‘Piggen’was a pail that you dipped your mug or ‘Pig’ into to fill it with Ale, ‘Wassail’ was Anglo-Saxon for “Be in health”. This is a simply decorated one bar pub that is split level. The servery runs pretty much the length of the bar to the lower section on the right. There is plenty of traditional seating throughout which includes a cosy curved banquette. The walls are painted a neutral grey and have a GAA shirt on the wall along with a trophy cabinet and a few TV’s. . There is a pool table, a Jukebox and a dartboard which is slightly tucked away. At the back of the pub is a large beer garden which is partially covered and has lots of benches. The beer line up was straightforward and was full of familiar favourites. I decided on an Amstel, my pint was excellent and pleasingly cost less than a fiver. The food here is by Notting Dale Pizza. There are a dozen or so pizzas to choose from, a 12” Margherita pizza costs £10.50, the pizza here receive rave reviews. I arrived around 5.30pm, the pub was busy with a predominantly local crowd from all ages and walks of life. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat set to a mix of Ska and chart tunes playing on the Jukebox. I drank half of my pint inside and decided to finish it off in the garden which was packed with lots of punters tucking into pizza. The pub hosts Live Music, Premier League action and GAA games. If you want to know what a proper community pub looks like, then look no further than The @pigandwhistlew10 .This is a tight knit pub that I have visited a couple of times and I have felt welcomed and enjoyed both visits. This is the quintessential Flat Roof Pub. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 22.09.23
11/10 Ryan makes me a perfect quart of Guiness shandie with the jukebox playin' Blink182 :)
One of the best pubs I know always welcoming and friendly xx
Really chill place with cheap drinks and good music
Had a brilliant Notting Dale Pizza. Costs have gone up though with a 175ml tiny bottle of pinot grigio now costing £6 when it was £4 recently?
