Pie Hole - Extraordinary Pizza

The crust was hand tossed, but pretty dense for hand tossed. Perhaps its hadn't had time to rise a 2nd time? The pie itself was actually sweet. Not in the slang figurative sense..It tasted like it had sugar in the sauce. The burnt ends were pithy and tasted like artificial smoke...and way too much of it. They were small, hardened, dried out bits of smoky tallow. The sundried tomatoes were way too large, mouthfuls rather than thin strips, chewy, and overpowering. It was a beautiful evening, so I resolved to have a good time but the pizza wasn't good.. It was just okay, and My mom agreed. She pawned hers off on someone else. I may go back for the atmosphere but only something basic, with with no sauce.

Good fresh pizza dough and good choices of tap beer. Finally a nice real pizza for Texas!! And tomato basil soup was delicious. Great service , Colin!

Delicious pizza, great combination of chewy and crispy!!. You can not ask for a better patio!

Some of the pizzas are pretty good (definitely recommend the Fruited Pig), but others are nothing special… the lunch special is a great deal with a good sized salad.

Loving people loving people is what makes this place special. Great food too!

The first time I came to Pole the experience was good the pizza excellent I was even allowed to have a free sample of the pickle pizza which was wonderful. However, the second time I came and the owner wasn’t present. There is a gentleman out on the front porch talking to some people while I was waiting inside for service and he said he would be right back in, but five minutes later he was still outside talking, so I walked out. I had come in for lunch, and there was only one person sitting at the bar plus me so it would seem that whoever this employee was that thought speaking to someone outside who was not ordering, was more important than the two people inside who were going to order. As I am writing this, he is still out on the porch talking to these people. To be fair my first experience is what brought me back because of how well I was treated by the proprietor and the staff that was there And having one of the best pizzas I have ever had. He said his struggle was getting people to know where this whole strip of restaurants is but from my experience here at lunch, I think part of the problem is lack of good service, during the noon hour at least.

Eight of us went for dinner last night, and we tried many different pizzas and some salads. Everyone loved the food! I loved my pizza, the Farm Basket (all veggie). The Greek salad was delicious! Maria was a wonderful server. I would highly recommend Pie Hole- it IS extraordinary pizza! Vegetarian options: The salads and farm basket pizza were delicious!
