Let me start off by saying that the waitres at this location have always been polite, and the remodel that they have done recently is very beautiful. Here the is the problem. I visited this establishment today as I normally do once a month, this was the first time I went in after their remodel. I always order the large Pho with everything in it. I WAS SHOCKED when they brought out the Pho bowl. They have cut back on the size of the bowl by at least 40%. I actually asked the waitress if that's their LARGE size bowl and she said yes. I legitimately thought they had brought me a kids size Pho bowl. It sadly gets worse. The AMOUNT of food that was in the bowl was equally shocking. There was AT MOST 2 or 3 pieces of cooked meat, 1 pieace of tendon, a quarter of a meatball (I was counting at this point) and maybe 2 or 3 bites of noodles, NO BRISKET, NO RAW MEAT, NO TRIPE, the ESSENTIALS items that makes Pho. The broth of the Pho was delicious though. Second problem- 1 meal cost me a total of $20.55 ($17.35 for the Pho, a $0.52 convenience fee, and $2.68 tip) I always leave a tip as I feel it is rude to the waiters as they don't control the pricing. So with no tip it would have cost $17.87, I'm assuming this is including taxes. I honestly wouldn't be nearly as upset with the price as I know "inflation" is hurting everyone here in CA but the amount of food I got at that price range in my honest opinion isn't a rip off , it's complete robbery. I can understand that a remodel is expensive for any business owner, but this stingy way of doing business to make up for that cost is completely unacceptable. I don't know, maybe I just went in on a bad day, but one thing I can say for sure is that BEFORE the remodel, the food portions were very fair, but after the remodel, it has become a joke. I always loved Pho Tho and feel that they arguably have some of the best Vietnamese food here in Temecula, and AGAIN the Pho today was delicious, but the sheer lack of the amount of food, no matter how delicious it was, does NOT JUSTIFY its cost. I will personally not step food in this establishment again until they adjust their prices.
We ordered dine in (and receive very average Pho - poor quality beef) and then asked for two sandwiches and a plain baguette to go. The staff had no idea how to handle this and confusion ensued. The menu clearly stated “plain baguette”(for $5) but they eventually brought out half a small baguette, sliced and toasted. When I said that was not what I was expecting the manager came out and said “we’re not a grocery store”. They’re not a good restaurant either - someone please train the manager.
Although the food portion is decent here, it doesn't feel clean. When asked for hot water, we were given something that tasted like lukewarm tab water. Will not come back.
Boba was old, while the thai tea was watery and bitter. As for the phó was mediocre with the noodles being stiff from the temperature of the phó not being hot enough and the actual phó tasting like flavorless.
