We went here with friends who introduced us to this restaurant. What an extraordinary dining experience. We have Never had more delicious Chinese food, both in flavor and innovation. We have recommended this restaurant to several friends. Really wonderful food. Staff was wonderful. The balloon scallion pancakes were a masterpiece, both in presentation and in flavor. Thank you, Peter Chang McLean.
We have a habit in our family of going to a new restaurant that no one has been to in order to celebrate a birthday, and this time it was the new Peter Chang that opened in Mclean. We got reservations for 7:00, which was probably warranted for that time or before, but by 7:30 the restaurant had begun to clear out, so if you are looking for a later time it should be fine without one. This restaurant opened in what had been (consecutively) two different asian restaurants in the the time time we have lived here, so they had little input into the general layout, which had the unfortunate side effect that one picture window lead out into the parking lot, so we were bathed by a set of headlights for at least 10 minutes straight at one point (directly into the eyes of half the party). Widespread reflective surfaces lead to high noise levels during our meal, and it was most of the way through before we could actually hear that there was ambient music. Overall customer load trended young and Asian, a good sign for an Asian-themed restaurant. Service was generally good, but it probably took 5-10 minutes to get someone to bring us our bill at the end of the meal, which was their low point. The food however stood out. Not your typical "find in every restaurant" dish, and each individual plate had its own taste, instead of the "take ingredient set "A" and add sauce #2" approach that is all too common with Asian-themed restaurants. Word of warning beforehand, nothing we ordered was mild, so spice-fearing individuals should tread with caution. Thoroughly enjoyable, and I hope to find an excuse to go back again, or try out some others of the Chang dining group.
This is the first time I have been to this restaurant. This food was very bad here. The staff are aggressive and weren’t polite to us. We belong to a different nationality and Chinese cuisine is very new to us. The waitress did not have the patience to talk to us. She could explain us what we were ordering but was not much interested in us. She kept rushing us and we ended up ordering something that we did not plan of eating. This restaurant only wants money not the customer’s satisfaction. The food was very bad and we could not complete it. Not going here anytime again and please visit some other restaurants than this.
Peter Chang keeps opening new restaurants. I believe this is about #15. I have been to five now and this newest is really good also. We ordered: Bubble Scallion Pancake Pork Soup Dumplings Spicy Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce Wagyu Beef Lomein Everything was excellent. Large menu includes cold dishes, dim sum bites, rice and noodles, vegan, soups, meat and poultry and seafood. Service was first class. Very friendly quick and efficient.
This location has improved so much since their opening a few months ago, and my party and I thought the food was delicious!
Excellent food and service! The dry fried eggplant and mushroom was a standout! Vegetarian options: Amazing variety in vegetarian options! Especially appreciated the clearly marked menu. Vegan Dan Dan noodles!
Even with reservations, the line was out the door with an hour+ wait time. Parking: We ended up circling the area and finally found street parking...
Awesome place. Best place for authentic Chinese in NoVa. We are veg and the veg lo mein, veg fried rice, eggplant in garlic sauce, veg dumplings and of course the eggplant fires are perfect for us. The place is clean and quite upscale. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Not great. Had high hopes based on what we heard. Sesame beef with General Tso's sauce was bad. Dragon eggplant was oily. Fried rice had no taste. Do not recommend ordering any of those items. Staff seemed friendly - we ordered takeout.
