Everything was fried, but it was so good! I had the combination platter, so much food! The hush puppies were amazing - funny that's the thing that sticks out, but the shrimp we're tiny and had such good flavor. Great stop for an out of towner.
After seeing all of the great reviews, we decided to give Peaden’s a shot on Thursday night. The parking lot was packed early, so we were excited. Straight off, if you’re looking for somewhere fancy, this isn’t it. The silverware is plastic, the plates are styrofoam and so are the cups, as well as everything else used to serve food. We didn’t care about that ourselves, but it’s worth a mention. The service was fantastic! Our waitress was sweet and was on top of everything, so we made sure to tip her really well! She definitely deserved it. I hate to say that the service was the best part of our dining experience. I got the flounder and it was not just really dry, but it was also fried with the skin on which was super chewy and unpleasant tasting/textured. The green beans were canned, which isn’t a big deal, but they had a lot of “parts” and were really soggy so I didn’t eat them. All I really ate were the hush puppies, which were delicious and served with butter. My dad got the whiting, which was better, and the skin being on wasn’t as big of a deal, and he said the French fries were okay. He said that the baked beans were not good. If you’re hoping for fresh or homemade food, this isn’t it. The atmosphere is nice, the lights are low and it wasn’t too loud, but the lack of flavor and care put into the food preparation was so disappointing that we won’t go back.
