Patisserie Valerie - Basingstoke

My Husband and I visited the Basingstoke Branch today for the first time and were utterly disappointed. We each ordered food from the lunch menu, a cake and a drink each. The food came out after 20 minutes which was fine. We were immediately disappointed with what we received as the food was burnt and tasteless, the so called BLT came with 1 cherry tomatoe. After 40 minutes of waiting and after we had finished our food we had still not received our drinks, a simple late and a smoothie. I spoke to a member of staff who told me that they were busy with orders. When I explained that we had ordered 40 minutes ago and other customers who ordered long after us had received thiers the member of staff became abrupt and rude. When we finally received our drinks we asked another waitress for the cake we ordered over 45 minutes ago and she took another 10 minutes to bring our cake, after serving new customers who had just arrived. In summary the staff were plain rude and clearly had no customer service skills and the food was honestly not worth the price we paid. Nor was it worth the 1 hour wait for 2 simple sandwiches, 2 drinks and cake Whilst we were there many customers were obviously experiencing similar issues and asking for refunds. We will not be returning

A Saturday afternoon in a busy shopping centre! Every table around us had an issue i finished my pot of tea before my cake arrived and even then i had to ask for it even tho I'd paid online!! Staff didn't have much of a smile seriously needs some better organisation won't be visiting again 3rd time and on every occasion something has been missed!!!

Ordered a cake and two coffees waiting as we speak now 20 minutes and the staff just walks past without any acknowledgement in fact they are trying their best to ignore us

Terrible customer experience. Was stuck in a fairly long queue to order, when there were hardly any customers being serviced. There were more employees than customers in the store and no one bothered to take our order, instead were roaming around needless. Definitely not visiting again.

Giving 1 star because I had to. Hardly anyone in the cafe and as I write this it's 30mins in and I've still not had my drink and the cake ordered wasn't available. Asked for a refund but the manager is avoiding us. Embarrassing.

No one came over to serve me even they told me to sit down. So i had to order on line to eat after ordering a cake and a Bottle of coke they tried to give me a can of coke which is from a multi pack i paid £2.95 for the bottle I had to say to them that I'm not paying £2.95 for a can In the end i did get the Bottle. But you should get what you paid for I wouldn't go back they again.

Food and staff are nice, service however, terribly slow. Taking 30 mins for our cuppa tea/coffee. Afternoon tea is overly priced. Couple bits of sandwich and cake almost £40. I keep coming back hoping it’ll change but it never does!

Cakes came put fast but had to wait another 20 minutes for the drinks. Personally I like my drink with my cake. This is the second time we have visited and this happened first time to. Disappointed

I give two stars just because our server was nice.. went in a couple of weeks ago for an afternoon tea because my friend had a voucher.. took ages to get what we ordered probably cause they were clearly understaffed.. (which is something I noticed in every single patisserie valerie I’ve been to..)anyway we were not in a rush so that’s fine.. but the shocking thing was the cutlery and crockery that clearly looked dirty, I should have taken a picture. My friend asked for another teaspoon, the lady brought us one that looked just as dirty.. Grabbed myself the only clean knife I could find and used that, didn’t make a fuss but I was honestly shocked. Tea and cakes were alright but for sure it’s the last time I set foot in a patisserie Valerie again.. doesn’t matter what branch honestly.. it’s the exact same everywhere.. I feel sorry for the people working there..
