Pastries are amazing. You can tell that they take it seriously. Team aren't the happiest bunch and the atmosphere doesn't encourage you to stay around too long. Coffee is well made, overall I'd recommend everything here, just order everything to go.

If he’s good enough for the queen he’s good enough for me! Everyone in the area knows this baker, it’s a real treat to buy from here. The bread and other baked goods are legendary

Awful place. Terrible decor, cheap, unclean, expensive coffee. What a wasted opportunity, ideal position on the High Street but this place is a dump. No wonder the place was empty, it's awful. Thought the open topped, rubbish-filled dustbin at the entrance summed the place up. Worst business we've ever been to, surprised it's operating.

The staff are slow, rude and shouldn’t be in service industry. Coffee is generally lukewarm by the time they can be bothered to get it to you. It has got worse as the years have gone on.

Amazing

I often see this store to be quite busy but passing last Sunday they had tables available. The presentation of the food makes selecting an item a challenge, it varies from sweet to savoury so something for all times of the day. The team were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere very relaxed. Be prepared for the pricing, it's not cheap but you do get good quality. Parking: Parking in the area is on street and limited. The local traffic enforcement are very active so don't leave extending a stay to chance.

The food at MBs can be very good, but on other occasions less so, with pastries being the most consistent and with a decent range. The sausage rolls and pasties can be incredible, but the pasties can be too salty or the sausage rolls, very dense … it seems to depend on the batch on each day. The flavours are generally good though. I think the sandwich menu needs to be refreshed, there are plenty of options but somehow they’re either a bit too similar, or too rich for a light lunch. The service is very up and down, poor listening, often slow to give you the last item, or as in my last 2 visits, I got home to find that I was given something different. Such a shame, I would use MBs every week for lunchtime takeaways, but these issues put me off.
