Lady that served me? Deliberately served someone else first (that wasn't in the queue) as she had just walked in. Laughed with a colleague because I wad annoyed. Then smugly said your welcome.
The food here is always fab, but the festive sandwich on brown bread is a Christmas delight! I visited again today, on Holy Saturday, at lunchtime. It was disappointing that there were no hot cross buns at Ashley Cross, and sitting outside, the tables were dirty and the floor covered in cigarette butts. The staff weren't as good as I have experienced previously. Perhaps they were just too busy, but it felt a bit chaotic and I felt there was a lack of courtesy. I hope it's just a blip.
Unfortunately have no photos as I deleted them however what can I say. Buzzing...food was worth the wait and coffee was hot,not like some other places. I had a Matured cheese and breaded ham with salad, onions and mustard Dijon in a Seeded wholemeal bread which was fresh and warm. You pay a wee bit more but it's worth the extra for the fault of food and service. Crazieeeee time as so many folks were popping in for take outs as well as needing a table....but staff managed with a smile and a laugh. Thank you MB Abbo ❤️
It is our to go place for brunch/lunch. Intimate and cozy ambience, and the service is quick. Their sandwiches are the main reason we come back time and time again.... what with freshly baked bread, fresh ingredients ( i guess from the taste) and a filling serving, what's not to like. Highly recommended.
Polite friendly staff providing good service. Rolls very good. Nice coffee while I waited as order was a takeaway. Will be back
