4.4 for this place is just stupid. Been several times and it deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Absolutely deserves the Michelin star and is not as expensive as many other starred places. Mozz and prosciutto is insane. Budino dessert is nuts. Pastas are mindblowing. Love it!

A large menu but not overwhelming. Perfect portions. Hugh attention to detail in food and service. Classy but comfortable ambiance.

$120 a head junk. I make better food at home. Service and bread are good. The food was entirely mediocre. Won't be back.

A wonderful dining experience with excellent service. The kitchen always delivers, so most items on the menu are fantastic. Waiting to be seated can be challenging but well worth the inconvenience.

A bit noisy. The food is great. Service is meh. Reservations are a must, but not guaranteed Vegetarian options: Very helpful. Dietary restrictions: Food allergies . They are very helpful. Parking: 15. Plus tip.

A perfect place with perfect food perfect service perfect ambience. Food was exceptionally good without any doubt but what makes it special is the service particularly Caitlin was super. Not just good suggestions but also kept the process in good pace. We didn’t wait for long in between meals even also the restaurant being busy. What was also surprising was the price level…very decent for a Michelin star restaurant. Only wish if there were more option of wine by glass…

12.23.2023 | 6:45pm Location/Ambiance: Osteria Mozza is located on the corner of Melrose and Highland. There is valet parking for $15 or street parking available on Highland. We arrived for our reservation at 6:45pm on a Saturday night and found street parking quite easily. The restaurant is dimly lit and was decorated for the holidays. We were quickly showed to our table but also had the option to sit at the bar. The dress code ranged from casual to cocktail attire. We were celebrating my birthday and received a card from the restaurant. Service: Our server was very friendly and recommended us 4-6 dishes for 2 people. We were checked on quite frequently during our meal, and there is an ample amount of staff walking around so we never had to wait long to flag someone down. We usually do not drink and this is the first place that we did did not feel "judged" by the server for declining to order drinks. We ordered one appetizer, one pasta, and 2 entree (secondi). Our appetizers and pastas came out in a reasonable amount of time, but we had to wait 30 minutes from the time our pasta dish arrived to get our entrees. Food: * Mozzarella di Bufala tasting ($32): this was a trio of cheeses - smoked mozzarella, mozzarella, and burrata with olive oil. The accompanying fett'unta bread was amazing, one of the best I've had. It had the right amount of salty garlicky flavor that was an amazing contrast to the mild cheese flavor. The smoked mozzarella was very interesting and the mozzarella was good, but my favorite was the burrata with olive oil. * Ricotta & Egg Raviolo ($23): this pasta dish was so divine. The raviolo square was stuffed to the brim with creamy ricotta cheese, with a browned butter sauce that perfectly complemented the cheese flavor. However, the some of the edges of the raviolo tasted a bit undercooked/hard. * Grilled Whole Branzino ($46): I can't stop raving about this dish. I ate lots of sea bass this past summer in Italy, and Osteria Mozza's branzino is one of the best, if not the best, I've had. I've been to my fair share of places in which the fish dish gets drenched in sauce and additional flavoring, but this branzino truly shined on its own. The calabrian chiles was sooooo good and was a 2/10 spice for me. The light heat combined with the saltiness of the fish felt like heaven in every bite. I didn't really care for the salad as fennel and celery are not my favorite vegetables, but it did taste salty. * Crispy Duck Confit ($49): the duck was appropriately salted but did not taste dry. It fell off the bone nicely. The pear sauce pairing was ok, thought it could be a bit sweeter. The portion was hefty and worth the money. The restaurant has a family style/sharing format. I should also add that this is one of the few times that I leave a "nice" restaurant feeling full. The pasta portion is small but they do not skimp on the secondi. Overall, this was a great place to celebrate my birthday. It is reminiscent of the Italian flavors I had during my trip. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. I definitely recommend this place for special event!

A go-to consistent spot since it's inception has tragically seen its best days. Clearly they have chosen yo rest on their laurels and r behind the days of class and a great floor GM and somm. The moment the host didn't offer to carry the drinks from the bar to table was foreshadowing. No more bread service. Ok fine. The first course dishes were a miss. Standards for years were off and had changed their DNA that made them so good. The Cesar was passable. The pasta course took well over an hour to arrive and when it did we weee famished, irritated and disappointed. The raviolo was dry and lacking its punch. The garganelli and orcheitte seem yo decrease in size over the years and just didn't have the flavor one has become accustomed to over the years. The steak was oddly under-salted. What a total bummer it was. The service was off. Dirty plates lingered. Wine glasses sat awaiting pours. When asked for our thoughts and candidly delivering them to one of two Somme- or maybe this guy was the gm(??)- we got a nod and a piece of very good tiramisu. Disappointed I have to check this spot if the list after many years of great meals.
