The food was quick to come out. The appetizers were fresh and crunch. Everything was a great. I got the hibachi scallops and my wife got the Teriyaki bento box. We both loved it. Will definitely come back. The only thing I wish they had was hot sake, besides that everything was great!!!!
Food is authentic Japanese. I lived in Japan for two years and this is the best Japanese restaurant I’ve found in the States. That’s saying a lot because I hit Japanese restaurants every place I live or visit like others hit Mexican restaurants. Service and portions - always great. Meal presentation is picture worthy. I go there for lunch and always seated immediately. I hope there’s enough evening business because I’d hate to ever see them shut down. Just can’t say enough about this cultural Gallatin treasure.
Ordered Hibachi Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Neither tasted like any Hibachi Japanese that we had ever ate. Chicken tough, could not eat. Fried Rice had no veg. or egg in it. Hibachi Veggies too hard to eat, almost raw. The Sweet and Sour Chicken had no Sauce on it. Rice same as other. Soup was tasteless. The biggest waste of $40 ever spent.
It's an old Shoneys but don't let that stop you from eating here. The food and service are terrific! We will be adding this to our list of Japanese places we enjoy eating at.
The General Chicken is outstanding. The lunch option is served with fried rice and a choice of salad or soup. The price is extremely reasonable. The miso soup is ok, but mostly dashi stock with minimal ingredients.
Service was good. Salad came with delicious ginger dressing. Cheese crab appetizer was tasty. The big let down...ordered basil chicken....don't! Served quickly and hot. Veggies were fresh, adequate chicken, but no basil! Asked our server if they made a mistake, and made us broccoli chicken, but she said that they use dried basil ! I don't expect onion powder in place of onions in a dish, so I don't know why they use dried basil in place of fresh basil. And I bet that jar of dried basil expired a year ago. Mm ay try it again, but no basil!!
Restaurant was particularly busy tonight but food was still served relatively quickly. Waitress was very sweet & the sushi was cheap and good!
