Pretty unassuming location for amazing food. Soups were well balanced, seafood pancake had the best crisp, and the cheese topped squid and pork belly was hefty! Note: pictures were hastily taken after we already dug into them due to being hungry. Presentation was actually much better than the photos Kid-friendliness: Well thought placement of high chair.
Located beside Hannam market right inside the sliding doors of the strip mall entrance! Normally, I am really picky about Korean food but their Gamjatang really impressed me! Generous meat portion and the pork nearly fell right off the bone. The broth was flavourful, with a hint of spice that was not too overpowering. Side dishes were simple and complimented the dishes well. They were refilled promptly! For a limited time they’re doing a special promotion for students, so do check it out! Service was friendly and efficient. I’ll be back for sure!
I really enjoy the stir fried squid with pork belly and rice balls, my spice tolerance is standard, but when I saw that they have mild option for spice I chose it without any hesitation. And it wasn’t a mistake it was incredibly delicious. My mum and I really enjoy it as well as my father. So I would certainly recommend this dish if you’re someone like me who don’t have high spice tolerance❤️ and the atmosphere and service is really good as well.❤️
Since most of the menu comprises of the same proteins you can see they are trying to incorporate different flavours into similar dishes. Like the concept and atmosphere is great - dumplings slightly chewy but okay for the most part just the regular kinda app. Sea food pancake is huge and delicious if you want something filling and warm and cozy. Portions are big no need for appetizers for single person. Would say for their squid/pork combo dishes since the squid is so thinly in rings it tends to overcook and be chewy both times over ordered it. Thickening it might help for those dishes since it won’t be so rubbery in the heated sauce/soup base for take out.
A little hidden gem in the small plaza. I really love this place. Although the place is not big, it is cozy to dine in. It's not too overwhelming and feel crowded. The waiters are very friendly and welcoming. I have been asked a few time how's my food and if I need any helps. This place is clean and lots of parkings available! I got the lunch special. It only offers on weekdays. It came with a square box that contains 8 little one. Each of the 8 boxes has different kind of dishes. I love that the portion is just right that I am able to try out different kind of Korean food. The main course in this was the short ribs and they were tender and juicy which make a good combination with rice. I really like the spicy squid and their kimchi! It also came with a dessert drink. I am not Korean so there are some dishes I was unsure and the waitress patiently explained to me which is what. I felt warm just dinning here because of the extra caring they provided. Overall, the value of the lunch special is reasonable. The friendly staffs made it extra home-feeling. I would recommend and definitely come back to try out other food. Also, I wish their lunch special available during weekends and holidays too, so that I can bring my family to try it.
The food is excellent and you can order refills for the side dishes . But keep in mind that the place is small so you might have to wait for a while but it won’t usually take too long. Most of the food is spicy so if you don’t prefer spicy food then you might have to tell them to make the food without the spicy stuff.
It’s our fourth time visiting Onggi, and the food is as delicious as before. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. We ordered Stir-fried Spicy Squid & Pork Belly (we order this dish every time) and Gamja-tang Hot Pot, and the sizes are massive. Super delicious and worth the price! We even had 25% off because of the student event. We will definitely visit here again, and I really recommend this restaurant!
I really love this place! It’s quite small and unassuming in a corner of a mall but they do some dishes really well! If you’re okay with fishy flavours, I highly recommend grilled mackerel set with rice and fermented bean soup. We also had the spicy rice cake and it’s a lot for two people so order at your own discretion. They also have side dish refills and my favourite by far is the kimchi and the marinated potatoes. If you’re into Korean food, this is a must try!
