Fab pub, fantastic service and very welcoming. Great selection of beers and wines. Lots of places to sit and have a quiet drink or stop off for food. The pie was scrumptious and my partner had steak. All cooked and presented lovely. my previous issues, with this bar aside 1 member of staff has just told me 1 person, this man has said i made advances to his daughter (who i dont even know)(this comes from 1 of the old staff who is close to this individual, was sacked then rehired by his bar. This shows the companies mentality on truth and honesty. The old member have staff also stated its come to him through multiple people meaning this companies staff are spreading slander. I have done nothing wrong, my family have lived in this village 50 years, myself over 15 and this situation has caused a family fued!! I met thean whos spreading lies about me over 10 years ago and we never got on and never liked each other and he always bad mouthed me and belittled me as hes always the hard men. This pub since last 2 changes of hands has gone to hell. Members of staff talk about punters behind there backs and owners do nothing, this then turn to in my case has caused my entire family not talking due to lies spread. I was allowed in the bar at xmas with 10 members of my family, yet in febuary i was told i was barred(so be it) this company praise money over honesty. All the locals whom know both me and him, i ask you to look at my family and relationships between you and them and anyone spreading lies about me, and do what you think is right if you believe i am a capable of the lies spread so be it, if you dont believe thats possible tell them that. I cannot keep living in a village which 1 person and his friends are slandering me. All because people who dont like me wish to ruin my name and my families standing in this village. Its basically whos got the biggest mouth wins mentality

Food great, Rhubarb and Custard Sundae was delicious. Very friendly bar staff. All in all a successful birthday meal.

Lunch time visit, the lasagne was great. Plenty to eat and delicious. Very hospitable and welcoming venue.

We went as a family seven of us the food was excellent but unfortunately the service was not very good having to wait nearly an hour between starters and main course, if one of the staff had came and told us about the delay and perhaps offered another drink or something the stars might have been higher. Then, one of the dishes we ordered should have roasted veggies with it and three pieces of veg is not a portion, considering I saw someone else get a sizeable dish of the same veggies with the same main course. Sorry we visited because of a birthday treat, and I was upset about it

Go there every week lovely helpfull staff very thoughtful about your preferences.

The worst meal we’ve probably ever had as a family. Shame for a superb village that deserves a great dining pub.
