Old Detroit Burger Bar – Troy

Extremely disappointed in my experience at this establishment. First of all the $9 plate of onion rings was more of a side you get with a meal, definitely not $9 worth. So $50 for a kids meal, drinks, and 1 regular meal, with an upcharge for soup. The burger was overcooked and not seasoned whatsoever. My grandma and I split our burger. They charged me $2.50 to cut the burger in half and put it on another plate! I've never seen such an outrageous thing in my life. The manager says "it's right at the top here on the menu" why would I be looking there? I'm looking at the actual menu to see what food I want...she says she's not taking it off. I understand the manager is not the one who put this ridiculously stupid and unnecessary policy in place, but don't you think she should instruct the staff to VERBALLY inform the customers that they charge to split a meal? She says a lot of restaurants charge for this...well I've been to a lot of restaurants and never been charged to split a meal. Don't come here!

I went there mid afternoon, so not peak time, on the weekend. Service was slow, then a big group came in and it got slower. Good menu, but the meat was super fatty in both the pulled pork and d the chicken Cobb salad.

Ordered carry out. Burger bun cold and old. Asked for no salt/ seasoning yet waffle fries were loaded with it. If I had the energy I would have driven back. Happy to support local business; unfortunately this is the second time out of last three times I’ve ordered from there this has happened. Not sure if I’ll order again. You’d think burgers from a burger restaurant would be good?

We came on Friday night and the server we had was very nice & prompt. The drinks tasted great and were priced appropriately. We also got fried pickles as our appetizers; I’m not going to lie I’d love it if it were chips but the spears were good! I ordered the Gratiot burger and subbed in blue cheese; it was Amazing!! One thing that did stand out to me was as that they made sure to post on the menu that the kitchen is all nut free. Having a nut allergy myself it was nice piece of mind. My fiancé and I will definitely be back!
