New Taj Indian Takeaway Rumney

Been coming to Taj regularly for the last year or so. Fantastic food and you can watch them cooking too. My little boy loves his 5 poppadoms every visit. High recommended to all and reasonably price with amazing staff x

Always great food from New Taj. I never go anywhere else. The Chicken Rezalla is my favourite.

Ordered first time last October after having a leaflet through the door. We had a family order for a birthday, they were lovely on the phone. The food was delivered hot and on time.. The food was amazing!! I'll be ordering again tonight for another Birthday

Ordered the chicken tandoori biryani, which came with a masala sauce. Also a peshawar naan. 10/10, looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Same owners as the Old Taj on Newport Rd. Only used them once before as didn't rate their food last time. Unfortunately, same again. The chicken & spinach balti had a strong burnt garlic taste, and it was hunt the chicken pieces. The lamb karari was ok, a bit spicy, but the lamb was rubbish, very thin slices of overcooked meat. The only way I could describe it was if you've ever had a microwave roast beef boil in the bag type dinner, the beef you get in those was how the lamb was, but with a slightly marinated red colour to it. The lamb biriani was the best part of the order, the rice was very tasty, it had the same rubbish lamb but was as bad, as it had been cut thinly and probably added last minute so it wasn't rubbery. The onion bhaji was a stodge of batter. If I was desperate for a takeaway curry and didn't have a microwave curry in the freezer, then I would go again. Would I go there again if somewhere else was open, No. Rumney Balti is better. Unfortunately, they were closed. Friendly service though. Yes I can confirm that it was the Countisbury Ave shop that I came to.

I ordered from here on a regular basis but due to my last experience I won't be going back. 2.5hrs to deliver my meal, first told it was on it's way, then it had been delivered, then delivered to wrong address. On my final call, I was told that my meal would be cooked fresh again and delivered asap but when it finally arrived, it was cold, so it had obviously been taken from the wrong customer and brought straight to me as i litrally only live down a hill from them, even though they denied this. It went straight in the bin. In reply to Taj comment... I can guarantee that I ordered my meal from the new Taj in Countisbury Ave as you're only up the road from me. I ordered via your website as I always do, under the name Jan and I can also confirm that I did in fact wait 2.5hrs for delivery

First visit to the taj tikka massla was good not too spicy. Was waiting for nan bread think they rushed as it was a bit doughy not fully cooked and fluffy. Also the onion bhaji was a bit undercooked in the middle balls are squeezed to tight so heat didn't cook to middle .all in all a good meal will return.

Ordered our first takeaway from here, and loved it, plenty of food, including side orders like dips and poppadoms definitely going to be ordering again.
