New South Tailgate BBQ

So upset I ordered via Uber eats waited almost 2 hours to receive my food and I didn’t receive my sides. I got the potato toppings but no potato nor baked beans. Ugh so disappointed.

My wife chose this place because it is black-owned and it had a 5 star rating. We ordered two $30 plates and got ready to get it in! Unfortunately, the only thing remotely close to 5 stars about the food was the Mac n cheese. Every meat we had was seemed to be spawned from the Sahara itself. I took a pic of my wife’s plate (brisket, lamb and ribs) but both plates were (I want to say some of but it’s not even close) the worst bbq I’ve had in my life - that’s from restaurants and from private dinners/cookouts. I don’t know if the 5 stars were fraudulent or legit and they got comfortable, but I’m so disappointed with the food that I HAD to post this…..hopefully my order was an anomaly

Tried this spot on a friend’s recommendation. The food is fantastic and the couple who run it together were a delight. I especially recommend you try the sauces. The ginger bbq sauce is wonderful. The 5 cheese Mac n cheese is probably some of the best Mac I’ve had. Brisket was tasty and moist. Ribs were tender and had delicious flavor that didn’t even need sauce (although the maple bbq sauce was good on them) Portions on the super sampler were good and allowed me to try a few different things.

Food was ready on time and served with a smile in a friendly environment. Ribs were flavorful and tender. Mac and cheese was delicious. Will definitely be back soon.

Best barbecue around in my opinion. I Stop in anytime. I’m in the area. Highly recommend.

Best BBQ around, and the owners are AWESOME! We eat lunch once a week there and never disappointed. Great food. VETERAN OWNED &OPERATED!!! Favorites are the pulled pork hoagie, rib plate, Mac and cheese, Baked beans, Brunswick Stew.

Really good food and incredible southern hospitality. The owners greeted us as soon as we walked in and went through menu options. The Mac & Cheese is the best I’ve ever had. Everything was good, but overall my friends and I most recommend the brisket chili Mac bowl.
