New Beijing

Ordered from here previously and the food was good quality, unfortunately our most recent order was average at best. The food arrived 10mins late and when I tried to call the shop for an update first of all the number didn't connect and when they finally answered the staff member was rude. Food was okay this time but not as good as previous occasions, the worst was the ribs in the mixed starter, they were all fat & bone, no meat. The food is pricey even for a Chinese and when you're paying £9 - £10 per dish, I expect better quality food and for the order to be on time. Hopefully this is just a one off but we thought we'd finally found a good Chinese takeaway only to be disappointed on this occasion. The takeaway only operates through UberEats online as well, so the prices for delivery are extortionate. We'd waited all afternoon for the food and didn't have the option to order something else either so we had to eat the food regardless, but some of it went in the bin, real letdown.

Ordered fried rice and prawn + duck and mushrooms on 24/06/23 but the meat looked horrible and had turned green already. Even though it was covered in sauce, you can clearly see that the meat was already bad and they must have had it a long time. So bad that I didn't see this on time and it was good that I had taken a little portion. And to think that I paid a lot

i never write reviews but this had to be done. if there was an option for no stars i’d do it. we ordered multiple dishes for mother’s day and were looking forward to a nice meal. imagine our disappointment when the food looked soggy, dishes we didn’t order were sent, and everything we tried left a foul aftertaste. every person who ate a few bites felt uncomfortable and sick after. my aunt who NEVER complains about food/ meals, proceeded to vomit and had us throw the entire order out (literally threw out our ENTIRE order because it was inedible). when we complained, the owner was extremely rude (wasn’t gonna write a review but that DID IT) and didn’t care that the food was questionable at best and rubbish at worst.

Where to start… For one, even one star is a star too many. The food was, to put it nicely, TERRIBLE. Not only did it smell and taste absolutely revolting, it made my entire family all sick (and trust me, it’s not be because we haven’t had Chinese food before). It was an incredibly upsetting experience since we spent quite a bit for a family gathering. When we attempted to contact the restaurant, we were met with a hostile owner who refused to believe his food was anything but god’s gift to mankind. We told him we would complain if he did not take our concerns seriously; to which he rudely said to go ahead with. Anyways, I am not one to take it to the internet due to bad experience with food, but I cannot stress enough how frustrating this entire situation was (especially since we genuinely felt unwell after eating their food). TLDR; if you’re thinking about ordering from here- don’t (as i’m writing this my cousin is asking me if i want a peppermint gum to remove the taste from my mouth).
