Murchie's sells tea - and coffee - and all the supporting hardware that goes with it. They also serve drinks on the premises. Most of these sales must be "to go" as the seating is very limited. Just two chairs and a table inside, one chair and a small table outside. That being said the service is excellent, very friendly and the tea is freshly made. Only served in paper cups. Very large choice of teas. I noted on the side board where they keep the sweetners, stir sticks and so on that they also offered free tasting of one iced tea. The music chosen on this occasion was delightful - swing or jazz from the 1920's & 30's I think. Altogether a much nicer experience than the nearby Blenz.
I have made a few purchases from this shop and never been disappointed with the quality of the lose tea. The customer service is very good, and I love getting their specialty ice tea every year.
Very disappointed with my purchase! I bought two sets of tea cups and sauces as birthday gifts for my friend and both of them are defected: one has a stain inside and the other has a bump inside which might hurt your figure when you wash it. I found this out after going back home already. I called in advance to ask whether they can do exchange for the same good ones and she said yes so I brought them back for exchange. However, when I arrived at the store, the same person said there were no extra ones. I asked whether they could order for me, and she said even if they order, the new ones will be the same and the quality of this set is not good! I was shocked! Do make sure to check carefully before you buy. That’s the lesson I learned here. Thought I will not come back again.
