Muramoto Hilldale

This used to be my favorite restaurant but after the pandemic something changed. The sushi is not as good as before they are not even rolled properly… service is not great either… definitively something changed

Sushi is great with some selections that are unique. The cod is usually good, only once was it poor quality. I love the Asian slaw and miso soup.

Most important: the staff are so patient, friendly, and amazing with gluten allergies and severe shellfish allergies. If shellfish is even slightly near a piece of fish you want they will let you know, and give you other suggestions if you ask. Secondly: the blue mackerel sashimi is literally the best thing I have ever had. I had a carry out order, but if I was there I would have ordered 20 more. The only con is that I have been trying to get my hands on the fatty tuna sashimi forever and it’s always sold out. I suppose it speaks to how great of a piece of fish it likely is. I will always recommend this place. I have been many times before, and I will continue to go. Bonus: they give me no shame every time time I go in and need a fork. Chopsticks are my mortal enemy Dietary restrictions: Great with shellfish and gluten allergies. They take them very seriously

I'm absolutely shocked this restaurant isn't rated even higher on here...this was the best sushi / teriyaki I've had since living in SF and the service was amazing! What a treat. Thank you!
