I used to love this place. I was there this morning w my husband. Service was awful. We won't be going back.
One of my faves go I recommend it
The food was amazing, friendly wait staff, And the food hit the spot!
Mulkey's is a place we've always made a point of visiting when we come home. My father-in-law was a regular there who everyone always stopped to say hello to. He passed this week at age 97, and Mulkey's was the last place he visited. There's nothing spectacular in the atmosphere there, but while other places are trying to assimilate nostalgia, Mulkey's offers the real deal.
Had chicken fried, eggs, biscuits and gravy. Will eat there again very good.
I recently moved into the neighborhood and re-discovered Mulkey's. I had dined there many years ago and always enjoyed the place. It is still exactly as I remember it: great food, excellent service! Not having any way to prepare meals at my new home, my roommate and I have relied on Mulkey's quite often in this time of retrieving our belongings in storage. The waitresses, both day and night, are the most pleasant and most efficient in town! I believe a few of them have been at Mulkey's for quite a few years because they know how to make guests feel welcome and appreciated. We've been there a few times in the past 30 days and have absolutely no complaints!
I used to love Mulkeys. I have been away for 2 years and was so excited to come back for my hot turkey sandwich and was so disappointed. As were the people I was with, everything had no flavor and just wasn't the same which made me so sad. Everyone I have talked to said the place just isn't the same and they don't go there anymore. It's just sad to see a QC staple go down hill. I hope they fix the recipes back to the original. If they're still in business next time I'm in town maybe I'll give them another try...
