The decor is fun and very old school, and the menu is fantastic. But what really sets them apart is the employees and the service. On a recent trip to Omaha for a conference, I visited Mr. Toad's and I forgot my hat there. After contacting the staff they worked hard to find it and even went so far as to ship it back to me because I had to fly out before they opened. The sort of people who would go to those lengths to help a stranger deserve all of the business that they can handle.
It's 5 stars for the amazing patio and people watching
Great bar! A must in Omaha. I would like to know the margarita recipe, my wife said it was the best she ever had!
Warm and welcoming. Great bartender!
Old pub ambiance & British temperament.
My memories of Mr Toads are all magical, '74 to '78. Seeing the Stones and others stopping in on layover. The only pub in town with Guinness on tap- and they served a beautiful pint. My various girlfriends loved it, the pub grub was above average. The atmosphere a welcome break from Creighton's glass, steel, concrete, and dust. One memory is a little bittersweet, breaking up with a girl I truly loved because she wanted to be with a doctor eight years our senior. It didn't work out as she expected, my personal preview of the yuppie era. The MC told me the sea is wide and deep, full of pretty fishes ready to school around me. Was that Giovanni? It was '76. He was right, thanks.
I decide to go in one late night after a 12 hour shift at work to relax and get a drink like I have a few times before. I never caught this bartender’s name, but I don’t think I ever want to. The most rude bartender I have ever met. Cut me off when I tried to order, glared at me, as did the two other staff nearby. Clearly I’m not welcome here and I sure won’t ever be spending my money here ever again.
