Royal China on Veteran's version 2.0 = Miss Shirley's on Megazine Street 1.0, after a short return from retirement. The meal was fantastic: Accurate seasoning, fresh ingredients, accurate texture, Al Dente when should be, attention to detail of 3 accompanied sauces, complementary reverse osmosis bottle water for the table, not silverware but goldware, well designed menu, gluten free or available as option, round tables for 6+ and rectangle tables for 2 or 4, everything just very nicely done. Miss Shirley, you have outdone yourself. I am sure you got plenty help from your daughter. Right-on! Many more happy years!
Food was amazing! Service was awesome! Restaurant atmosphere was not to my liking but only bc of the constant chatter from so many patrons! Ordered our food to go and it was SO GOOD!! WE WILL DEF BE BACK!!
Two of us got the following items: Steamed Dragon Dumplings, Stuffed Peppers , Crabmeat Udon Noodles. All the food items were delicious and the service was very good. We sat at the bar and the place was busy on Saturday as was expected. I ordered shrimp fried rice to go and I found it not to be so flavorful. I added some soy sauce and sesame seed oil to it and it kicked it up to a tastier stage. This is one of the few places that puts bean sprout in their fried rice which was a normal staple years ago among many Chinese restaurants. At the Royal China restaurant where Miss Shirley originally had her place, the fried rice was tastier. I want to mention that when we were seated we were given 2 complimentary pork dumplings and upon our concluding our meal given complimentary beignets. Thanks for the good food and service Miss Shirley.
Absolutely delish! Fresh food and super friendly. Highly recommend!
We had the most amazing food and the people are absolutely wonderful. Best egg drop soup and egg rolls ever. All homemade from scratch. This is a beautiful place and Miss Shirley is so warm and friendly we cannot wait to come back.
Stopped here while on a trip to New Orleans and I just say I was pleasantly surprised. From the moment we sat down, the service was prompt and friendly with sample dumplings and beignets offered before and after our meal concluded. The squid and pork belly plate were probably the star of the show- complimented by their absolutely delicious chili oil. The shumai was also good but I found that their har gow was a bit too doughy for me. We also had their duck and found the batter a bit plain but when you dip in the sauces and wrap them, it’s still a very enjoyable bite. Lastly, I def recommend their mixed veggie combo- insane umami and salty perfection. Will stop by again when in New Orleans
Visited New Orleans from out of town and had an opportunity to try it out for lunch. Great service and great food!
Best dim sum I’ve found so far in Nola. The dumplings are to die for and the green beans so flavorful. The soup dumplings are the only thing that’s better at Dian Xing. Our waitress Erisa was super nice and even gave us a free appetizer. I am hoping to try the whole menu here
