Food has always been its forte. Minerva has always lived upto the mark. Service is pathetic, they are always full, but guys please be polite, honest, and deal with patience. Customers wait endlessly while you give preference to your regulars and high tippers.
After a failed first attempt, I finally got my hands on the famous Minerva Thali. The last time I visited, there was a 15 minute wait, and the Thali was sold out at 2:30 pm. I really wanted to know what the hype is about. Today, I was there at 2 pm and there was waiting as usual. However, I got a table in 10 minutes and Thali was available. It was served in 5-7 minutes and it looked like any other South Indian Thali with mini pooris, dry veg, dal, sambar, rasam qorma, curry, curry and a desert. Ulavacharu was something I saw for the first time in a Thali. It was awesome! My primary focus was on sambar as I have been craving a good sambar for months. Although it did not meet my expectations, it was good. In fact everything was good. Ghee was served on request. Butter milk was great. Papad had lost the crispness. Overall I loved the Thali at Minerva. Looks overpriced at Rs 325 but it's worth it for a place like this. Please let me know your favourite South Indian Thali place!
