Super disappointing, went for a birthday and everyone ordered tacos, cold, tasteless and dry tacos. All of the corn tortillas were falling apart and the tacos were so bland and dry that it actually took effort to I bought the most basic burrito, paid extra for the “shrimp” but I think there were about 4 tiny shrimp throughout the large burrito so it really wasn’t worth the extra $6. The margarita and paloma were tasteless just like the rest of the food. I advise you not to try this restaurant. I wish I asked for my entire bill to be comped… it was so bad. Also for a table of 6 there is an auto gratuity of 18% that they don’t disclose ahead of time.
Just bad. Do yourself a favour and skip trying this place. Way too expensive and food worse than mid. I got the shrimp and carnitas tacos and it was flavourless. If you don’t read the menu carefully, you won’t realize the $11 tacos are actually $17 if you choose a non-vegetarian filling. Plus autograt of 18% on our party of 6 soured my opinion of this place.
Decent food at best. Portion, where good and flavours were mild. I was disappointed that they had no mexican beer! Also, there was no mexican or spanish music. Seems they are doing the bare minimum to create their restaurant environment. Vegetarian options: Corn and zucchini burrito Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, you have wheelchair accessibility.
Smells like really strong old pee . Couldn't be in there for more than 6 minutes. It's a shame because it seems like it would be a cute little restaurant
Hidden gem in Fernwood. Food is always amazing and the service is exceptional.
I would rate this place as fair in comparison to other taco shops in town, and no- I'm not speaking of Taco Time... I ordered fish tacos minus the cilantro and the tortilla soup. I received only the tacos- with cilantro but no soup. When the soup arrived it was very hot in temperature but tasted like tomato soup- spicy yet quite bland. Although the tacos were not added to the bill we still felt the bill was a bit on the pricier side for what we received (for 3) and we won't be back. Your response makes no sense. For clarification we bought 6 tacos, a soup and a burrito. And the replies you give here to paying customers that don't give you a rave review is very telling and immature. Now we won't just be back- we'll spread the word.
A hidden gem! We arrived without a reservation (recommended!) and as luck would have it they had a table for 2 available. Really fast, friendly and attentive service. We ordered an appetizer, drinks (beer and sangria), salad, fish tacos and the meatball dish. Everything arrived quickly and were all equally delicious. Prepared with care, wonderful flavors and truly amazing. Our evening couldn’t have been more perfect.
What an unexpected treasure right across from the Belfry theatre. The atmosphere is delightful. Colourful and warm and the mellow beats play at a level where you can enjoy a conversation. I was instantly greeted with a warm smile and kind service. I got to choose my own seat which is a nice touch because I'm particular. My server, a young woman, made eye contact throughout my meal to make sure I was contempt. there's nothing worse then spending your meal whipping your head around looking for your server. I truly felt waited on. But in a laid-back way, if that makes any sense. let's just say it was my kind of service. Prices are below average for Victoria and the portions don't disappoint. (Heaping chips and house made salsa $8, burrito bowl $18.) Think authentic Mexican with delicate cremas and reductions. don't expect your meal to be smothered in 2 inches of cheese, American style. This is a real taste of Mexican. I'd say if anything this quiet restaurant is almost too unassuming, and they deserve to give themself more credit. I'll definitely be back. Vegetarian options: the base of everything is vegetarian and you can optionally add meat Parking: vining, Gladstone and other nearby streets have free 2 hour parking
