Merriman's Kauai

Good but not amazing. Ahi was seared and seasoned really well with still buttery raw center. Mac nut mahi mahi was ok not too flavorful, veggies on this dish was bland. Mashed potatoes really good. Poke appetizer was too creamy you can’t really taste the fish. I liked the papaya salad.

The food and service did not disappoint. The table we sat at, table #1 was a wind tunnel and froze. Should have brought my foul weather gear. The Ono was the best I ever had. The men's room had urine all over the floor. Too bad such a great culinary experience was offset by what would seem to be minor details.

Merrymans Filet horrible no flavor and tough Pasta with fish tasted like a bottle of ketchup. Filet Needed a ton of salt and pepper. No seasoning on a steak? No pepper on the table. Poke good Salad good The waiter never came to check back on the meal only when we were done and didn’t even notice we barely touched the pasta. We ate most of the unseasoned and undercooked steak because the pasta was so horrible Birthday dinner . Steak was very rare in the middle. Reservations made way in advance Won’t come back nor recommend We were excited about having dinner there What a flaming failure $200 of horrible

The best fish we've had on Kauai. The Ma Kai is incredible and the views are awesome!
