Mena's Grill Tex Mex Cantina

On my first visit here, I brought my mother, who was visiting from out of town. We came on a Monday after work (around 5:30 pm) and were immediately greeted and seated. Our waiter arrived promptly, bringing an awesome energy and was super friendly, helping us with drink and food recommendations. The food was excellent! My only small complaint was with the drink—I ordered the Old Fashioned, and it was a bit sweeter than I would have liked. But overall, I’ll definitely be back. Plus, happy hour all day on Mondays is a major bonus!

I am shocked and appalled that this is considered a Tex Mex restaurant. First and foremost, service was great, my review is solely based on food and drink quality. My margarita looked like water and tasted like it too. I mean it was basically clear. The food is about on par with what you get at a sports stadium. The “queso” on my chalupas is what you get from the bottle at a baseball game. The Tostitos queso in a jar at the grocery store is better. Not worth your money, there are so many other actual Tex-Mex restaurants close by, this was a sit down version of Taco Bell (and Taco Bell tastes better).

Very good food and friendly service. Love the Tableside Guacamole, so fresh and tasty. Also love the Pink Lady drink, beautiful dragonfruit color and very delicious.

The menu is very nice and has many options! The atmosphere is very chill but also live and has live guitar music and great songs on the speakers when the guitarist is on a break! The drinks are AMAZING!! And the service was fantastic. JASMIN OUT did herself on attentiveness, accuracy and she had wonderful feedback and suggestions on the drink menu (which is very exclusive and worth checking out!) They even have margarita flights!! The bar tender was astounding, and is very well articulated in the crafting and taste of the cocktails! Best of all, it’s not an overpriced place for some stuff you’d be able to find in a strip mall. The food, quality and service are very great and the prices are very reasonable!

I met a friend for dinner last night and we had such a good time at Mena’s. Not only was the food and atmosphere perfect. But we had the most incredible server. Fernando was attentive, witty, non intrusive and eager to make our evening so enjoyable. I would go back just to have him serve us again. He was authentic, kind, appreciative and a breath of fresh air. Good employees are hard to find and he should be the example to which others are held to replicate! Thanks Fernando for making our evening so much fun!

We are huge Mena’s fans, and this was our first time at the one in Flower Mound! We loved the food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely 10 out of 10! We will be back soon
