My friend and I went to Mazaar Lebanese Cuisine Friday, March 15, 2024 and had a terrific meal. The staff were amazingly friendly, always smiling and attentive. We both had shish kabobs, fattoush salad and shish tawook with warm pita bread and home made hummus...our mouths were watering with delight this entire meal ! I used to go to the Mazaar Restaurant on Ouellette Avenue when I was working downtown and absolutely loved it for my lunch but I had not tried Mazaar's on Cabana until today and I was equally pleased with the fine fresh food and great service. I do wish they would have had the Pinot Grigio by the glass and not just a bottle but other than that ...we can't wait to go back ! Love Mazaar's !
Honestly shocked it’s 4.2 stars, this is a place I wouldn’t be worried to take MY MOM to! That says a lot, especially my mom. She’s an amazing cook and should have opened a Lebanese restaurant years ago but 6 kids would squash that dream goodbye. I have to test restaurants before I take her out or else I’m going to hear about what they should have done. So if I can say this is MOM APPROVED, let me tell you why! I went on a Saturday evening, first time - just a walk in. Got a seat, saw it was fairly busy. Jazz music playing, we were greeted by the host and everyone was very friendly. We got the Mazaar platter but the one made for 4 people, but by request can be made actually for 2 people so you can sample more! Came with kafta, beef kabobs, lamb chops and chicken. Apps came out first, salad, rice, kibbi and these cheese dumplings/pastries with hummus included. Fresh pita! The garlic sauce is genuinely delicious, it’s garlic sauce, should taste like garlic! I haven’t gone to a real Lebanese restaurant in a long time and finally found a place that knows what they’re doing. I’m a bit sad I didn’t try the tabouli because that’s the real test !! But the spicy tomato sauce that comes with the meat, with the garlic sauce on the rice makes for a good bowl. Everything compliments each other well, could make yourself a bowl or arab taco lol honestly well done, I would come back. I was just visiting from london/Toronto area with a client, thanks for making a good impression. But anyways - 36.99 a person is actually great value for the quality and quantity you receive. We still have leftovers! Tasted amazing, beautiful atmosphere. I’m glad they had the music up, only thing was how close you sat next to another table - I could hear everyone’s entire conversations. Found out some juicy gossip, my guy left his wife and the other guy to my left is flying out in a week on vacation, all the best to everyone LOL I walked out paying $130, that included 2 drinks, Turkish coffee and baklava ($9) a bit pricey, it was dry not much syrup but 4 pieces. My client did spend 2 weeks in Cyprus eating fresh baklava so he’s a bit spoiled but you can tell they’ve been refrigerated a bit longer.
