Masons Arms, Strawberry Bank

A great afternoon! Visited with friends for Sunday lunch and we were all super impressed. Despite not having a booking, we were warmly greeted and soon found a table. Eugene looked after us and seemed to know what we wanted before we did!!! The roast dinners were delicious, piping hot and beautifully presented. No room for desserts, but will definitely be back soon. Thank you to David for fitting us in, on what looked like a very busy day. Highly recommended

Had such a great stay at the Masons Arms. David and everyone couldn’t do enough for us and we genuinely felt properly looked after. Great food, great drinks, great room (we stayed in Lyth cottage for 4 nights with 2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 eight yr old and a dog), great service, and great views. What more could you ask for. Will definitely go back. Thanks David and team.

Wonderful warm welcome from Eugen who, along with his colleagues, looked after us very well when we had dinner here. It's a lovely cosy pub/restaurant with comfortable seating and we were made to feel at home. Food is superb, excellent quality, nicely presented and the menu has dishes to cover all tastes. Will definitely be back!

Great location, with lovely easterly views. Outside seating and tables with rain protection and heaters scattered around. Good menu, although not at the budget end of pricing. The food is, however, excellent. Warm fires indoors when the season requires them. Friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly, at least outside - not sure about indoors. Frequently changing selection of decent real ales. Parking can be entertaining.

Every time we visit The Lakes we always look forward to a meal in the Masons Arms (Strawberry Bank). The Sunday Roast is one of the best you’ll have and the Sticky Toffee Pudding is just delicious!! The pub is welcoming and cozy, and the staff are great. Can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Fabulous meal at this lovely pub. Food was delicious, ambience and service were excellent, and the view was just the icing on the cake.

We stopped here for lunch as it was highlighted at the Queens Head in Troutbeck. The location was fabulous but we were shown to a table next to a fire and it felt like we were in a corridor. Our drinks were ordered and the person in charge seemed to either instructing the 2 waiting staff or just having a long conversation before he made up the drinks. Then after the drinks were served we were totally ignored and i had to ask for them to take our order. 3 of us opted for the Bombay Aloo pie. While the pastry was very nice the contents had potato, onions and a couple of leaves of spinach. What I expected was considerably more spinach and a lot more spices. We also think that as everyone else seemed to get their food we had to wait rather a long time so thought they had forgotten us. The chips and mushy peas were nice. We liked the pub, would have liked to be offered a table with a view. The service could have been a lot better given we were at the side of the bar and there were relatively few customers when we arrived. The food was OK but could have been better. Perhaps management could take on board my comments so that if we return we will get better service. Only went for dinner, but the food and drink were first class as was the service. The only thing we didn't like was the low table with a bench seat that was too high and a high bench, coupled with a cramped room, made manoeuvring very tricky

Beautiful as always. Staff brilliant as always. And extra brilliant catering for my folks who had certain requirements in order to be more comfortable during their stay and in the pub :) Rooms: Cosy Food & drinks: Great pub on site probably one of my favourite pubs in the uk

Love meal and excellent service nothing too much . Really relaxing and not rushed .Food excellent . Only meal never stopped over.
