I love the antipasto salad with garlic bread. The lunch special is $8.95 for a small and it's packed with meats, cheese, veggies. Very good, also the pizza here is yummy.
It used to be a really good place to eat then the waitress that always worked there changed. They brought their grandkids and their family and they were rude and obnoxious on the phone and their food wasn’t the same and they like to insult people when they’re turning their back, walking out the door after being a customer for 15 years.REVIEW MENT FOR PALM SPRINGS LOCATION ONLY ✌
The place looks more expensive than it is with Italian decor of hand-painted walls of people and places of Italy. The food is delicious - I had a nice salad and two slices of New York style pizza. My server was perfect in being there at the right time with the right attitude and the right thing, being both unobtrusive and available, which is not an easy skill to master and shows the caliber of training and attention to detail. Bravisimo!
Visiting family in town, we met our grandson there as it very close to his work, we had not eaten there the 20 yesterday we lived out there...the food was fantastic and yummy..when in town will go again..and maybe the whole family can make it next time
From previous experience with Mario's food, I went for a simple al pesto sauce. It was disgusting! Some dried herbs and pine nuts . It had no taste whatsoever. The very amenable waitress offered to change. I chose a bolognese sauce. I am not sure what it was, but the taste insulted Italy. After a few mouthfuls, that was enough. If you want Italian food avoid this place. I have lived in the desert for 30+years and tried to like Mario's, but never again!
