I came here this afternoon. I had a cheese, tomato and pesto toastie with salad. I loved my food ☺️ The disabled access is not very good. The really small and it's quite a tite squeeze to get into the cafe. The tables are a bit high. Lower tables would be better. I would come back again. Thank you, Jacob
When it first opened I feel like the place was better and higher quality, over the last year I've noticed the price doesn't feel right considering the low value of food. The last time I went I had a panini with salad. It was a basic aldi panini with next to no filling and a few slices if cucumber and tomatoes on the side. Paid for bread with colour... Not only do they never seem to have the food you want (all processed) but disappoint you in the compromise. I don't mind paying higher if the food is decent but here you get low quality, cheap food that charges more than Starbucks and that I don't understand. My advice here if you truly want returning customers, is give people there value. Stop being stingy, lower the prices on some of your low value items on the list and if your going to charge the price you do, at least pick quality ingredients or at the very least put a little more into it. I used to pop here from time to time, I no longer feel like it's worth it at all and would rather go anywhere else. It's not right paying high prices for basic school food which frankly was more generous and far cheaper. The coffee is okay, not bad. I know this sounds overwhelmingly negative but I'm only saying this due to the constant downgrade in this place. Its just becoming another cheap food serving bistro that forgets why people came in the first place and its disappointing. Hopefully they switch it up once and a while too, the standard menu is a little plain and light. Not much to choose from and don't even get me started on the price of the English breakfast... wouldnt be so bad if you threw in a cumberland instead of the cheap, generic value sausage. Hopefully they read this and take it into consideration a little because its not only me that's stopped coming here I've spoken to recently. I wouldn't want to see it reach the same fate and a lot of other places in goldthorpe but without any unique products or value I don't see me returning to be overcharged, underwhelmed and still hungry. The best product they served was a frozen coffee which they don't do anymore. Add variety and calm it down on the prices, or again if not put more food on the plate. Stuff the sandwiches and paninis more. Bring back the frozen coffee and maybe make a little more from fresh and leave all the aldi products where they belong. In the kitchen cupboard at home. People came to your place because it was a little nicer and had a better vibe than most of what goldthorpe had to offer. But slowly it's just becoming the same but at a higher price. Not paying more to sit at a slightly nicer table when anyone could make the exact same thing at home for less than £2.
