Mama's on the Half Shell Owings Mills

I love this location and like the other one honestly. The staff here is so poised. Aaron was my waiter this time and his energy was EVERYTHING I needed to start my week off. He gave great recommendations and tended to me as needed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was great but the service was not good at all and it’s not the waitress fault they assigned the bartender at the busiest time to assist clients sitting at tables at the bar so of coarse everything was delayed down to the time it took for the bar tender/ waitress to just bring me water. I ordered a drink and ask to drink it with my food and I never received it. Once I was finished eating my waitress/ bar tender then said I’ll make your drink. I don’t need it now. I had to get up on two different occasions to get my waitress and when I reported my concerns to the hostess/manager she thanked me. Not offer any compensation for the service. Poor management.

I could not wait for this place to open and it did not disappoint. The inside was a total surprise more formal but still casual. You are met in the foyer by a beautiful gold loveseat.The place has a very classy laid back elegant vibe. I was greeted by a very pleasant Hostess and Gentleman, I sat at one of the high tables next to the bar. Behind me was a formal dining area with a fireplace (awesome). There is also an upstairs. The place was beautifully and professionally decorated for the holidays with lots of greenery, lights and Christmas Trees. It is gorgeous. I had the cream of Crab soup, it was flavorful perfect consistency and yes there was sufficient crabmeat. For my entree I ordered the seared scallops over a potato pancake and creamed spinach it was delicious. The potato pancake was a hidden surprise perfectly cooked. The scallops were also perfectly cooked. Lemon pepper and ole bay wings are excellent. The wait staff was attentive, very pleasant and I received overall outstanding service. This is a special must visit. Bravo Mama' s!! Owings Mills needed another classy restaurant. I will be back again. There are lots of menu items to choose from.

Food was ok. Under seasoned. I had the strip steak. I asked for medium. It came out medium well/well. Almost no pink. And not seasoned at all. My mother said her crab cake was good but green beans were not seasoned and very oily. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. It was so oily it was inedible .. My blueberry lemon drop and raw oysters were the highlight of the meal. My niece had the lamb chops and said they were tasty. Crab egg rolls were tasty but the crab dip bowl was so thick it was more like a paste and not a dip at all. Keep in mind there is a mandatory 18% gratuity on all meals regardless of party size. And a mandatory 3% administrative fee ( I have never heard of this ever) The service was great. Overall a few hits and a lot of misses. I definitely would not return.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday 2/18/24 for a friend's birthday celebration. The event was planned in advance, so the establishment knew that 30+ people were expected. The servers were extremely slow (and forgetful) when taking orders, constantly made excuses for their incompetence, and never apologized. The food was less than average, especially for the prices. I ordered an appetizer of cream of crab soup. The cream base was tasty, but it had a half of a teaspoon of crab meat sprinkled on top as a garnish. There was NO CRAB MEAT in the soup. As an entree, I ordered lamb chops with whipped potatoes, and spinach. The dish came out in a bowl with potatoes, spinach, and lamb chops mixed together covered in lots of very bland gravy. It was horrible! The worst part of the experience was that some in our group (including the guest of honor) did not receive their food until many of us were finished eating. It was a disappointing experience and I will likely not return to Mama's on the Half Shell Owings Mills. Parking: plenty parking Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible

Friendly staff. Food was average. Way overpriced.

This was our first visit and we arrived with high hopes for an excellent brunch. The restaurant was relatively quiet when we arrived and the greeters were very friendly and accommodating. We were seated near a table for 12 which wasn't too alarming since the restaurant was mostly empty. Waited for 15 to 20 minutes to see a server. We put drinks and food order in and drinks arrived another 10+ minutes later. Food was fine - but eggs Benedict with salmon was cold. Be aware that they automatically add 18% gratuity on all bills PLUS a 3% admin fee - whatever that is.. interior is nice and well furnished and staff was nice. Just overall a very average experience and the slow service definitely took the fun out of the table.

Our server Brooks was outstanding, atmosphere and food were great. We had fresh oysters and clams and sea scallop appetizer. For the main course we had chicken Chesapeake & fish and chips and the most important dessert was crème Bur-lee which by the way is out of this world! Great Valentine’s lunch.
