MAJER Giudecca

In un tiepido pomeriggio primaverile avevo voglia di sedermi in riva vicino casa con delle mie amiche per prendermi qualcosa di fresco e fare due chiacchiere. Essendo domenica, uno dei pochi posti aperti è proprio Majer, che è molto carino, ma spesso frequentato solo da turisti. Prendiamo posto, aspettiamo un po' e non arriva nessuno. Vado all'interno e chiedo informazioni (se ordinare all'interno o aspettare il servizio al tavolo) Mi viene risposto con stizza e finta cortesia forzata, che posso scegliere velocemente qualcosa al banco e al massimo succhi e una spremuta, ma assolutamente non una centrifuga, perché ci vuole troppo tempo e dopo mezzora dovevano apparecchiare i tavoli fuori per la cena (erano le 17!) e quindi comunque dovevamo andar via. Esco, racconto alle mie amiche, tergiversiamo un attimo, mentre una di loro mi racconta che sanno essere scorbutici con i turisti e le persone che non conoscono, e il tipo esce, sempre più stizzito ribadisce il concetto (come stessimo chiedendo qualcosa di improbabile). Decidiamo allora di alzarci e spostarci in un altro locale. Con i flussi di gente che ci sono in città e in isola, trattare in questo modo la gente a loro non cambia di una virgola l'andamento giornaliero (degli incassi), ma lo trovo irrispettoso e sgradevole. Ho sempre preso caffè e pane da Majer, nonostante i prezzi sempre meno abbordabili, ma credo che ora ne farò a meno. Eppure basterebbe così poco.

We just popped in for a quick glass of wine, pizza, pasta! Very good. Staff was very nice, spoke English, and it was super tasty! Veggie friendly

This was literally one of the best restaurants my husband and I have been to in all of our time in Italy. The grilled octopus entree was the best octopus I’ve ever had- cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Prawns were also amazing . And the tiramisu is to die for. The chef is truly talented. I would come back here every night of my stay to try more things.

Prix raisonnables. Les cookies étaient vraiment très bons, ainsi que les jus fait maison. Ils y font un peu de salé également.

I honestly think this place is such a gift to Venice! It was the best meal my husband and I had the whole time we had here. There were only 2 waiters working and they did a fantastic job of making sure everyone was attended to and looked after while frantically running around from the front of the restaurant to the back. The food was immaculate. The tiramisu was a great treat, having had it in a different kind of way. Very unique experience and a place I will always cherish!

Fantastic meal. The steak was incredibly tender and delicious. The deconstructed tiramisu was also incredible. Also, the people were super kind and friendly. Highly reccomend!
