Get the Halibut. It's beyond great
A bargain, for the amount of food and quality.
Good, hot and quick. Crispy fresh fried filets. Eat in or take out. Solid neighborhood chippy shop.
Everytime I go in they forget something. Then when I go back in to tell them they just have this dumb look on their face.
Great fish! Love the halibut. You don't go to Mac's for the atmosphere, but it's clean and pleasant.
Best fried fish I've had. The cod and walleye are good but once you try the halibut, you'll never go back. The hand cut fries are good and the cheese curds are great. If you sign up for their customer loyalty program, you get great coupons every week pretty much for things like free cheese curds, 15% off, 23% off, or other free items....or $5 off your order. It's really a great program and I use those coupons every time I go. Pro Tip: The lime tartar sauce is much better than the regular tartar sauce.
Date day ♀️ We had high hopes for Macs. We had been talking about it all week. Let's start from the beginning. Parking is ridiculous and almost impossible. That should have been my 1st sign to go elsewhere. Walked in wasn't greeted, caisher just stood there portioning tarter sauce. We ordered #2 cod, #6 shrimp and a fountain soda. Fish had no flavor batter was gooey, like the fish was frozen when they put it in the fryer. Shrimp was ok, but 6 small pieces for $14. The fries in both combos were old, no salt and cold. One coleslaw was dry the other one was watery. The soda tasted like mold, and the machine probably needs to be cleaned. There was no heat in the dinning area instead there was a small space heater that barely made a difference. $34 spent and left with an empty stomach. Big disappointment. Please take the words fish and chips off the sign. Parking: 3 parking spots in the back.
