Lucas Brothers Sandwich Shop

Lucas Brothers, an iconic diner in the Columbus, IN community, founded by Pete & Lloyd Lucas, of Bloomington, IN. in 1937. They purchased two shops called Hinkle's, located on the 4th and 5th block between Washington and Franklin St.. Pete sold the diner in 1963 and started a similar shop in Jonesville, IN called the Brick. Former owner/operator, Donna Cannon, purchased the diner in 1973 after working at the restaurant for over 20 years. The doors were closed in 2012 and reopened by Donna's grandson and wife, William and Chrystal Broaddus in May of 2020. Although the restaurant has changed locations and a few owners over the years, they still carry on the same tradition of these delicious smash onion burgers. Same grill, same great taste!
