Since 1930, our family has been baking quality products for dessert lovers like you. Our story begins with my father-in-law, John Slove, being hired to work as an apprentice in a Chicago bakery. While there he learned everything there is to know about baking. Then, in 1946, he and my mother-in-law, Grace, opened their own bakery on Diversey Avenue in Chicago – Slove Bakery. Their goal was to produce great quality desserts and provide excellent customer service: he did the baking; she the hand shaking. Through hard work and determination they grew the business and the bakery’s reputation as one of the finest in the Chicagoland area.
