Los Portales was one of our favorite pre pandemic restaurants. Having moved from the area, we dropped in when passing through the area. Quite a bit has changed. The dining area has been spiffed up, and I think the menu has expanded. They still have my Jarritos soft drinks. I have to say, however, that the dishes we sampled were not up to the old standards. I had enchiladas with mole, and my partner had chile rellano. The mole and enchiladas were good, but my refried beans and rice sides were lackluster. The rellano was OK, but the cheese was more like feta than queso. Portions were ample, and although I missed the complementary chips and salsa they used to serve as a starter, I didn't really need them to be full.
slow service, tasty but not amazing food...
Muy buena comida lo que comimos fue una torta portales, tacos de suadero y caldo de camarón.
Will not be coming here again. The waitress was being rude and disrespectful, Insulted my dad and the owner ignored it!
