I’m surprised this doesn’t have better reviews the meat in my dish was tender and everything tasted hot and fresh. Prices are fair and everything came out quick. Was open late and was exactly what we needed.
We used to enjoy lunch here. Certainly has changed. I had one of the worst Mexican lunches today. #3 on the lunch menu, burrito with rice and beans. The burrito was dry as dust and consisted of a flour tortilla with ground beef inside. Sprinkling of shredded cheese and just a bit of sauce on top. Rice and beans were in the side. That's it, no sauce or seasoning mixed into the ground beef, nothing. Terrible and a big disappointment. When I said something to the server she said, "we never put anything in our burritos". Alrighty then, thanks for the info and I won't be back.
I have been eating at Los Loros since 1992. They are the best in Jacksonville! Real "down home " Mexican cuisine. Great staff! Vegetarian options: The Chili's Poblano are delicious!
Just awesome food. Love this place. Best Mexican food in Jax by far!
Los Loros is a pretty good Mexican restaurant overall. Their level of customer service is superb. The waitress we had was very attentive and courteous. The food was fresh. The only issue I had with the restaurant is that their take on Mexican food is more like home cooked Mexican rather than the restaurant taqueria-style that I tend to prefer. For example, their take on Mexican rice also includes corn, carrots, and lima beans. I prefer just rice instead. The carne asada was also a bit chewy but, overall, the flavor was good. Los Loros also has Chile Rellenos which are quite generous compared to other restaurants. My only critique is that they should probably cook the pablano chilies a bit longer as they were slightly chewy. On a positive note, the salsa they serve with the chips was awesome. They serve a blended salsa rather than the chunky stuff you find at other places. It was quite delicious. They also have a spicier salsa that they will provide you although, unlike other places, they charge $2 if you ask for it. I would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out as their food is pretty tasty overall.
The food here is definitely amazing. I had a chimichanga, and it was very tasty and the right amount of deep fried to be chewy. My friend ordered fajitas and they looked tasty and came out, dramatically sizzling. The voice of Red pepper only, instead of with green peppers, gives it a better flavor than others. The space is nicely decorated, although sound carries well, so don't expect a quiet meal.
Great Mexican food and service.
Food was tasty and served without any issues. Worth a try
