My wife and I decided to check out Longport Fish Company (LFC) at the Veranda in Concord because she wanted to have seafood for dinner. Parking ⭐️ If you've never been to the Veranda, plan to be early because parking is always a pain. Parking isn't the restaurant's fault and won't be included in my overall rating, but it's worth noting. Reservations ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We went to LFC on a Saturday night, so I decided to make reservations for 5 pm, just to be safe. Not sure if it was a slow night, but there were a lot of seats available when we arrived and were seated immediately. I would still recommend making reservations. Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The decor was nice and modern. There are a couple of big screen TVs near the front of the restaurant, but none in the back, so if you want to catch a game on the tube while having dinner, then make sure you sit near the front of the house. The ambiance was nice and not too loud. Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were greeted rather promptly and given water as soon as we sat down. All of our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Our server came to our table a couple of times to check in on us, and other servers would come around frequently to remove any finished plates from our table. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Starters: Crab Cakes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The crab cakes were delicious. You get 2 with a side of tartar sauce. They were good-sized and had plenty of crab. Corn Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We got 3 thick slices of corn bread in the order with a side of Calabrian chili maple butter. My wife loves corn bread, and she thought these were good. She wasn't a fan of the butter, but for me, it added a contrast of savory to the sweet of the corn bread. Clam Chowder ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ordered a cup of the clam chowder, and I thought it was decent. Had good flavor, nice sized chunks of clam, with celery, bacon, and potatoes. This would be 5 stars if it was just thicker. They either added oil or cooked it in oil because you could see it sitting on the top of the soup, which is probably why it was soupy rather than chunky. I've had much better clam chowder in Monterrey and San Francisco, with the main difference being the consistency. Entrees: 1/4 Pound Crab Roll with Fries ⭐️⭐️ My wife ordered the crab roll, and she wasn't impressed. The roll wasn't full of crab. I don't expect it to be overflowing, but at least enough to fill in the roll. The roll was also super buttered, which made it really oily. We've had a lot of other lobster and crab rolls, and the bread was way better. Fries were good. Soft Shell Crab & Uni Pasta ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was one of their specials so I decided to order this. It was a choice between this and their prime rib, but I figured they're a seafood restaurant, so let's try something with seafood. I should have ordered the prime rib. The dish came with a big sized portion of deep-fried soft shell crab, which was good. The linguini pasta was black, which I've never seen before, but was cooked perfectly. That's about where the good ends. The uni sauce was tasty but hard to distinguish because of all of the oil. It was also a little spicy, which I may have missed when our server went over it. Nothing bad, just pointing that out if you're not into spicy food. If not for the sizeable portion of soft shell crab, this dish would be ⭐️⭐️. Dessert: Ube Tiramisu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My wife's birthday was coming up, so she scanned the QR code to get a free dessert. We ordered the Ube Tiramisu, and it didn't disappoint. I'm not a big fan of tiramisu, but this was really good, nice-sized portion, easily sharable for 2 people. Not your typical tiramisu as the consistency was more like that of a mousse, which I liked. It was drizzled with evaporated milk (I think), which helped cut into the sweetness. Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My overall rating for the price is based on each item we ordered and the food quality versus what I think they're worth. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 I really want to love this place, but based on our first visit, it's just okay for me. With that said, I would visit again to try some of their other dishes.

In this economy where many people arent eating out anymore youd think restaurants would lower the prices not raise them If a restaurant understood this and explained to the customers prices have been lowered do to the economy not only would it be crowded it would probably make the news that a restaurant sacrificed a few bucks for there customers and theyd be packed. I have five in my family so going out to eat and it costing 200 dollars is just silly Food is 8/10 But 26 bucks for your fish and chips is just a big middle finger to the customers 21 is still high but Id pay that and come in more often 26 no

Recently, I dined at Longport Fish Company and was thoroughly impressed with their culinary offerings. The blackened rock cod was a standout dish, perfectly cooked to showcase its moist, tender flakes that had just the right firmness. This preparation skillfully highlighted the cod's freshness, making it both delightful and technically impressive. The accompanying broccolini was also noteworthy, cooked through yet retaining a pleasing firmness and vibrant green color that was as attractive as it was delicious. The lobster roll was another highlight, featuring the classic Maine-style roll with lobster that was soft, succulent, and perfectly cooked. The combination of expertly prepared seafood and thoughtful presentation at Longport Fish Company made for a truly memorable dining experience.
