LJ's Sports Tavern & Grill

After coming here often for several years, I decided it’s about time to review! Some of my favorite wings, also their Cobb salad. Their baked cod is quite possibly the best I have ever had: never dry, Flavorful, a generous portion when often baked cod is unfulfilling. It can get loud, but with a sports bar that’s to be expected!

One of the best bars in Madison. Always a good atmosphere and great food. This bar is also a huge supporter of the Madison Fire Department and Madison Local 311 Firefighters. They always do a huge amount of charity and donations to various foundations. Definitely worth checking out!

Edit: I still don't come here that often. But I'm upgrading it to 5 stars. (August '23), because the place fills a certain niche. It's a spacious sports bar with good food and a good beer selection. It seems to be doing well and it's worth a visit. See original thoughts below. This place is never busy and it's pretty good. Nothing outstanding, but they have decent food. The service can be slow, but it's not too bad. Classic bar food--sandwiches, appetizers, burgers. They have fried fish as well. Decent selection of beers and a good place to watch a popular game
