Very upset with the new owners at Lina's Deli! The overall quality has dropped since November, when ever I enter the Granville Island Market I sadly walk past this once great cheese and deli store! Truly upsetting!
Unfortunate experience witnessed; Will not be returning. Although I was initially hesitant to write this review due to my loyalty to the store (my parents still remember shopping at the old store on Main St.), I feel it's important to share my experience. I was appalled the other morning at the actions of the new owner towards the staff. I wanted to compliment the owner on the new equipment they had recently acquired, but instead overheard how he had terminated multiple employees with no warning. This is very disheartening because many of the staff members are young and some of them have been serving the market for many years, providing exceptional service! I will instead be taking my business elsewhere in the market. I cannot condone such actions and wish to support businesses that treat their employees with respect and dignity.
I've seen the new owner not wear gloves! GROSS! He handed me the salami I ordered all crumpled and rolled up into a tube, so unprofessional...
Would give zero stars if I could. The customer experience and the quality of Lina's deli has gone down as of late and I'm very disappointed in the new owners as this is a store I once loved :(
Unbelievable…. (Redacted) *** lina’s deli made serious amends, they just hand delivered a charcuterie box fit for the demi gods!!!! Thank you so much for redeeming yourselves in my heart. Will definitely order from them again knowing how passionate they are about customer service.
One of the girls working here should check her attitude. She seems so disinterested in helping customers like she is too good to even be there. I stood in line for a long time to buy a small piece of cheese. One girl was slicing salami for a couple before me while the other one casually was on the phone. When she hung up, I asked her if she can help me and she tells me there’s a line and I can’t skip it. That was not my question and her helping me had nothing to do with the couple waiting for their salami order which was still being sliced. She comes across entitled and just plain rude.
