Lebanese Taverna

I have long been a fan but this experience was the worst. Waiter rude & unaccommodating. Out of lots of menu items. I normally love Lebanese Taverna, but this location felt like they were trying to fleece tourists.

In and out, but high quality and consistent delivery. They’re a go to carry out, but also have dine in seating in the fast casual version of an old city staple. There are just a few that remain. Go for a visit and enjoy fresh ingredients and friends to all.

My favorites here are the Mujaddara, Tabouleh, and Baba Ganoush. The bread is amazing! The lamb dishes looked really nice too! The shawarma was huge. Great portion sizes and superb quality. Definitely try their amazing desserts. The cardamom ice cream is divine. This is conveniently located across the street from the Woodley Park Metro station.

Great service, beautiful dining room, and a diverse menu. What could be wrong? I had a tabbouleh salad and chicken shawarma sandwich. Both were excellent. The salad was fresh and flavorful. The sandwich was also fresh and full of flavor. There was a lot of chicken. I could’ve used a little more garlic sauce but I didn’t ask for it so it’s not on them. The bread was warm and seemingly baked seconds before arriving at my table. I loved it and I’m glad I stopped in!

The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived, but It took us Over an hour to get our lunch. The waiter was inattentive/unpleasant and the food was only so so. I would definitely not go back there.

the chicken shawarma sandwich is really good, 10/10 recommend !!

Enjoyed everything we had. A bit surprised by the baba ganoush having pomegranates in it. This was a nice twist. My moussaka was also quite different from what I am used to. Nonetheless all was very enjoyable . UPDATE: Back in DC. Unfortunately I cannot try other restaurants in town when the food here is so good. Norris our waitress was adorable. Forever will be our stop for us when in town. Right at the entrance to the Woodley Park metro station.
