2024 3 ⭐️ An update to my previous review (2023): The quality of everything I've tried recently has been declining. 2023 5 ⭐️ Loved it! Everything I've tried so far was great! Tiramisu croissants👌👌 butter croissants👌 cinnamon bun👌! All delicious! Also, I had one of the best Americano coffees I've had here!

This used to be my favorite bakery. I've been coming here since 2010 and then it was sold to new owners. The cake is now dry, the service is awful, items are often not available. I'm so disappointed with how the new management runs this place. I finally need a new favorite bakery.

Absolutely the worst cupcakes I have ever had. Dry, with a rotten taste. We bought 3 and all 3 were hard and tasted like a hint of rottenness. The place had a bad smell. What a disappointment.

Received 1/2 dozen cupcakes as a gift. They were varying stages of freshness with some being stale and some being perfectly moist. Lots of classic flavors.

Love their red velvet cupcakes! Everything in the bakery case is amazing. We also love their coffee. It’s our favorite bakery in California and it’s a small business. 💕😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I used to like this place for its bakery products like croissants. Since this morning when I picked up the cake I ordered, I like this place even more than I used to do. Beautiful cake, reasonable price, and seamless communication and pickup. Plus, their latte is a thing for some reason.

My family has been going to Layer Cake Bakery (Irvine Location) since it first opened its doors many years ago. LCB has been our go-to bakery, from cookies to birthday cakes to holiday pies, since that time. Quality is the first thing that comes to mind after tasting their products. If you are like me, or my family, then you don't care for baked goods that are overly sweet. In these cases, the "over sugared" approach is used when the underlying dessert isn't all that good IMO. At LCB, you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every buttery bite. Their delicious assortment of treats has become a staple at our family gatherings, holidays and celebrations. The treats are also there when we just need our LCB fix. If I ever wake up one day and LCB isn't there, a vigil will be held at our house.

I used layer cake bakery first time 11 years ago for my bridal shower. Taste and presentation was fabulous. I go there for sliced cakes any chance I get. I also love buying cakes from here for bdays and other occasions.

I went to this bakery to try it and I’m afraid to say I was really disappointed. The staff was great and sweet! I ordered several different items to try. The croissant was just ok, not flaky as I was expecting. The blueberry almond tart barely had the almond flavor which was overpowered by the whipped cream and pistachio. The blueberries on top were good, but it’s supposed to be a blueberry almond tart. The devils Belgian chocolate cake was not too sweet which I personally like, but it was very very bland and so disappointing. The cookies were the best product. I’m not a fan of cookies but the dough was good and the jam in the middle had a great consistency and flavor. They were a bit expensive ($11/bag), but they were really good! The place seems like a nice spot to have some coffee, although it’s a bit pricey. Most of the products were disappointing except the cookies.

My wife likes it pretty well, but personally I wasn't impressed. I got a peanut butter cookie that didn't discernibly taste of peanut butter. Even followed up to confirm, but the woman checked the label and it was indeed a putatively peanut butter cookie. I think my wife said the cakes or something were quite good? Maybe try those.

Update (2023) The cake quality is sub par. Had strawberry cake and the cake was undercooked (can almost taste flour) and the cream was stiff. Not going to come back for another cake from here. Cake looks pretty, but that’s about it. After the first slice the rest went into the trash can. ——————————————- Previous Review Got a red velvet for our wedding anniversary. Love how it tastes. Rich, moist, hint of butter, not too sweet, just perfect. Even the cream was great. I'm a very picky eater and this is a great cake I enjoyed very much. Will certainly order again next time.
