Langlands Garden Centre

Came here yesterday (Saturday 20th April) with my family, seemed to have a lovely selection of plants and I have been a couple of times before. We were getting some for the garden and some for a memorial garden. Anyway, we tried to get in the cafe for a drink and was told they had closed. It had closed earlier than the stated time. Was willing to let it go anyway, anyway when it came to the paying part. Oh my goodness what a real pain that was. Offers not coming off, then to be not just told but very rudely told off regarding the fact everyone should apparently know that the offers that say 4 for £10 means that you MUST get 4 of the identical plant and that you cannot get any other plant even if it’s the exact same price and same offer. How is anyone meant to know that? And also why they can’t honour the offer and let people get 4 for £10 from the range and not just the exact same ones I don’t know. I haven’t ever really come across any business willing to throw custom away and argue so much about the wording of the offer and that I should have known this. The two women on the checkout were incredibly rude and argumentative with the customers, not just us. There was a couple there at the same time who had done the same as us and they too said the same about why if it’s the same price can they not do that offer. I guess they have money to throw away and don’t care about their customers. We left feeling very disappointed and actually quite upset by the “telling off” we received. The couple that came out after us, the woman seemed to actually be very upset. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again and will find somewhere that actually wants to have customers. Clearly all they were interested in is doing the least amount of work possible and arguing with as many people as possible. What I was glad to see is that most people ended up getting refunded for the offers they thought they were getting but didn’t. Out of principle I did this too. Usually it can be quite nice here but today really has ruined it for me I’m afraid.

Good garden centre with a decent all-round product offer. Prices are what you might expect but there are also some really good deals if you look around. Great café on site with a good menu. Worth a visit.

Lots of the same plants at the moment, not quite the right time for many of them, but a good display anyway. Couldn't find any staff around to answer my questions, only the ones on cashouts. I still enjoyed my visit, though.Everything was clean and tidy, although it looks as if they are preparing for plenty of new stock.

Really nice cafe (beauty scones) very filling. Gets very busy. Very friendly staff. One downfall - not dog friendly like other garden centres
