Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa

I typically don’t review restaurants or dining experiences but felt the need to make the exception here. My husband and friends recently dined for dinner and Langdon Hall delivered on every single aspect. The food from start to finish was masterful; even starting with the amuse bouche display which was a gorgeous touch. The Ricotto was melt away on the palate and the lobster was perfect! The venison and the beef were both tender and rich with the perfect accompaniments to match each dish respectively. Definitely an experience that lived up to all the accolades. Where the experience was truly elevated was the service that was provided by Tyler. My husband and I have dined at top rated, Michelin restaurants around the world and the experience is always focused around the food, and typically rightfully so. Never one time has our server stood out as the exception….until now. Tyler was incredibly passionate, attentive, knowledgeable about every course (we asked his opinion several times) but most of all personably sincere. He referred to my last name throughout the evening which was very respectful and we noticed that when he approached the table his focus was 100% on “our” experience even though he was busy with other tables. Even smaller tasks like placing cutlery and clearing our plates were done with a certain care. My husband then pointed out to observe him at other tables and his service was consistent throughout the night with each guest. That is a Michelin Star server and he needs to be recognized. I’ve experienced great service in the past but always with a sense of someone just performing their job. This was an experience of someone showing their passion going above and beyond a set job description. It was a wow moment that again we’ve never experienced. We’d come back just to have Tyler lead our experience for sure! Thank you so much Langdon Hall and thank you Tyler for making a lasting memory for all of us!!! Truly spectacular!!!

Stayed at Langdon Hall for my partners birthday and it exceeded our expectations. The property itself is fantastic, with beautiful gardens and trails. The level of service from staff members was exceptional. Most notably Angel, Customer Experience Manager, who from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, was always there to greet us with warm conversation, local recommendations and always ready to add a log to the fire when needed. Rob, the lovely Friday night musician, created great atmosphere during our first of many exceptional drinks and meals during our stay. Katie and Emma, at the spa reception, were so accommodating and pleasant to deal with. It’s great staff members like these that turn a great experience into an exceptional one. Complements to the chef and bar/kitchen staff for incredible food and drink! Rooms were gorgeous with wood fire and a walk out onto the garden. Will definitely be back!! Mark and Lindsay

I can only speak on the restaurant, but thought the food was okay. The foie gras was colder than I expected, and slightly sweet to my taste. I was ok with the pot au feu. The proteins was fresh, but overall flavor was okay. I personally didn’t think the smoked ham broth added any depth or complexity to the dish. Service was okay, but atmosphere was nice to look at.

This place is so charming and has a lot of characters. Service, food, and everything else is amazing. You must go there. It is worth any penny you spent.

This is a special place. Above all, the staff are very attentive, clearly well-trained in the art of hosting, and pleasant, not stuffy. The spa has been upgraded since an earlier visit and is lovely. If I have a complaint it is that on a weekend, especially Sunday, I would very much like to be lazy and not have to take breakfast by 10. That said, they brought breakfast to our room later and all was well. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and creative. The sommelier was knowledgeable and of great assistance navigating a large wine list. This area of Ontario is unique, you know it when you are there. The stone, hills, meandering rivers. All lovely. I cannot say enough about our stay at Langdon Hall. The property is gorgeous and the service is phenomenal. We dined in the formal dining room and had the tasting menu our first night and it was the best meal I’ve had since moving to Canada. We also had lunch in The Winter House and dinner on our second night at the Wilk’s Bar. Both were excellent meals. There are lots of great activities on sight to keep you entertained in any season. Highly recommended for your next weekend getaway
