I love love LOVE coming here, as it’s my new favorite place to swing by to grab a delish drink. The customer service is always out of this world, and especially tonight with Anthony and Sora (hope it’s spelled right ), I really felt valued and respected as an individual. You guys are amazing, and I thank you for always making my visits enjoyable and helpful. You are the reason for my love of milk tea, and I hope you guys continue to shine as brightly as you have tonight, as you have illuminated my day and my mind with how amazing customer service works. Wish you the best, and I truly look forward to my next stop!!
So, Magic Nails and Kung Fu Tea are run by the same owners. The mom runs the nail shop, and her son runs the Kung Fu Tea side. The mom seems incredibly sweet. However, her son is extremely unprofessional, unfriendly, rude and arrogant. He lacks the will to communicate effectively, lacks the managerial knowledge to problem solve, and address concerns in a immature and unprofessional way. He also does not realize that you can't have a business and treat your customers poorly or you won't be in business for very long. My kids all have school age friends that go to Kung Fu Tea. My daughter has friends that get their nails done at Magic nails. Word of mouth can either make or break a business. Especially, in a small community like Holland. This is how I would have expected our situation to be handled... (Customers multiple cards declined) CUSTOMER : Could it be that your system is down and that's why my cards are being declined? SON IN CHARGE: It is a possibility, I'll tell you what...why don't you follow me over to the salon. Let's see if we can ring you up over there. If your card works over there, then I will know something is wrong with our pay system over here and I can put up a sign of excepting cash only, until we can further figure out the problem. Now that would have been a professional and pleasant experience, Here is what we actually had to experience... While my daughter was getting her nails done at Magic nails, I was offered one free medium drink at Kung Fu Tea. So, my son and I went to take advantage of this opportunity, while my daughter continued to get her nails done. So I ordered our free drink of choice. I ordered myself a free tea and a mocha for my son. I swiped my card for the Mocha and the girl at the register handed me my receipt. So, we sat down while waiting for the drinks. Next thing I know, the girl at the register called out to me stating, that my card had declined. I said, "you gave me a receipt." She insisted, to see the receipt. When we both looked at the receipt it said, declined. I thought, oh ok, no biggie let's run the card again (declined), so I used a different card (declined). This makes no sense, I said to myself. I looked up at the girl behind the register and to the son in charge and kindly asked, is it possible that your pay system is down? The guy who is running the place immediately got defensive and said, (in a rude and blaming tone), "It's definitely not us or our system, we never once had a problem until your purchase, you must not have money, or its your bank, you have to go take it up with your bank, I can't help you with that" I said, "hold on a minute, think about it, it can't possibly be my cards because I just used two different cards, from two different banks" After, that more defensiveness kicked in from the son, "it's not us, it's you statements". So, I called him out on his unprofessionalism and said, it's ok forget the drinks and went back to the nail salon with my son. Now, I am realizing that the unprofessionalism is continuing, when the son in charge followed us to the nail salon. The son is now in the nail salon complaining to his mom (in front of everyone in the salon, customers & employees) about me and my remark about how he could have handled the situation a bit more professionally. So, I pull up my bank statement and show it to the mom. She sees that I have more than enough money on my card to pay for services and that there is no way it could have been my card. The mom apologized for her sons incompetency . She then had her son bring out the drinks to us (she made things right). After that I waited 5 more minutes for my daughter's nails to be done. We payed and my card worked just fine there at the Magic Nail Salon. I hope that the son does better by future customers and his mom's employees. I only say that because, while explaining the situation to his mom, I heard a magic nail employee say, "yep he talks that way to us too". What a shame.
