After a long walk around orford Ness on a very windy and cold Sunday, managed to get a table for lunch and a few drinks. Food good and staff very friendly ...
Walked in on a busy Sunday lunchtime around 2pm but was allowed to have table that was available and order food, was told could be 45 minutes wait. We accepted this as hadn't booked and were pleased to get a table. Whilst there, some people(8) received their food, soon after some were complaining that their food was warm/cold. A mix up occurred after this between the server and the party, as she took their food away apart from one who was happy with their's. In the end after talking to the manager, they decided to leave as didn't want to wait any longer. We were not really knowing what to expect after this but we had no worries as the food we ordered appeared, hot and plenty of it. It was very tasty and the servers couldn't have been better, got the sauces/condiments we required and explained that the chef was a temp, and hadn't been there long. I said we had no issues and the chef had done really well if he was on his own on such a busy day. Parking: Public parking across the road from location, cheap parking. Some street parking but limited and if busy, difficult to find street parking.
Lovely pub, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Nice range of Adnams beers and ciders. Only one suggestion - to have more than one vegetarian main choice on offer. The mushroom burger was nice but it would have been good to have a choice.
2024- Staff were very nice and attentive to us, a table of 7. Good selection of food, however a limited options for vegetarians so we asked what else the chef could do and they made us a meal not on the menu. Lovely little pub, would recommend if visiting Orfors. Price for drinks much cheaper than one of the others as well! ####### 2019- Went for a birthday meal, really nice food. Good prices and staff are nice.
Very nice spot of lunch - onion bhaji wrap, fresh salad and perfect chips. Nice half of local lager.
