Jojo Aalay Gurkha Nepalese and Indian Cuisine (Sizzlers)

I have to alert you I am a huge food snob - and I can smell quality from miles off. I got a take away from here this evening - and I can’t say it wasn’t bang on. Perfect spices, well cooked, yes expensive BUT, worth the money I guess. Lovely chana masala, mutter paneer and the star of this show was the lamb sherpa curry. Bang on if I had to criticise I would have slow cooked the lamb over several hours. Was a little tough.

A lovely place, with friendly staff and really good food!

Great little Nepalese restaurant, we were well rewarded for venturing just a few steps beyond the main street of Altrincham with delicious fish fry, okra starter, momos, and curries. Friendly service and very reasonable prices. My favourite was the fish starter, light batter and well spiced (not too spicy!), cooked perfect. Give them a go!

We had a lovely meal at Jojo Aalay, the food was tasty and I loved that they also had some Gurkha beer. I would say that I'm really glad we went for the "less spicy" option as the dishes we got were a lot more like medium/hot than "less"! In addition the restaurant has a really nice aesthetic, and our host was so nice and helpful; we were made to feel really welcome and chatted for a while - turns out he'd lived in Hong Kong before moving over here to sunny Altrincham so we were able to swap travel stories too!

Grabbed a takeaway for ten people so we're able to get a large sampling of mostly vegetable dishes. Every one was extremely flavorful and balanced. Will dine in next time. The chicken momo was the stand out brilliant dish.

Food was nice and hot. The service was good. The onion bhaji were nice but a bit dense...the lamb chops were really tasty The makhan could donwith being a little more spicy. On the opposite the Madras was hot !! Really nice.

Lovely place! Varied menu with delicious food

An amazing place with lovely ambience , good music and really tasty food. The quantities are perfect and the quality is unmatched. The Indian taste is kept alive , and not been simmered down. The host was lovely and was great chatting with him. Would love to go another time there for sure. Also a nice place for a family visit, don’t miss it if you are around that place.
