Food and service is decent but place turned me away by not taking any responsibility for the environment around the restaurant. Their front windows and entrance is dirty and parking behind the restaurant is filled with disgusting garbage... Never going back there since I don't want to support business that don't respect community they are doing business in ... Parking: Free parking behind a restaurant
I’m sad about this restaurant’s decline in quality. I used to love this place. I’m sure the chicken satay is still ok (it’s been more burnt than usual lately). This time I ordered the Char Koay Teow and it was an utter disappointment. The noodles were dry and I definitely tasted sand in it. I was crunching on the sand and it’s not pleasant. The oil they use is too heavy as well. I don’t feel so good after attempting to eat this order. There was also a hair in my order which is absolutely unbelievable and I don’t think I will order from them again. :(
This restaurant has pretty good authentic Malaysian food. All my family members enjoyed the food (Mee Goreng, Hokkien Mee, Beef Renang with rice and Prawn Mee soup) that we ordered. The only thing is having parking issue especially on rainy days where some parking lots were flooded, making parking spaces very limited.
Napadaan lang ako dito at nagutom ako sa amoy ng pagkain nila.
Food and service was good. Had the skewers, ribs and brisket. Yummy! Free parking was great compared to the West Broadway location.
I’m a Malaysian living in the US. My partner and I have dined at Malaysian restaurants in NYC, Vegas, LA, Minneapolis Chicago & Vancouver. This location won hands down for the food. We ordered the Beef Satay, Beef Rendang Curry and Nonya Creamy Prawn. Absolutely delicious! Everything was packed with flavor. The beef was tender, tasted like it has been stewed for hours and the potatoes cooked just right. The coconut rice was very good. We devoured our food and had leftovers for the next day. We dined at Banana Leaf the next day and ordered the same items but just wasn’t as good as John 3:16. The atmosphere requires some work I would say. The ambience is not a place you would take someone on a date or celebrate an event but it’s where one would go just to have good food. Service was attentive and great. They deserved the tip we left them.
Ordered takeout from here a bunch of times but this was our first time dining in. The food definitely tastes better fresh and the staff are super friendly. The only downside was the sticky floors..highly suspect. But if you can look past it, this is one restaurant you have to try.
The food is amazing!!! I highly recommend the beef rendang, the beef satay, and the roti canai with coconut rice. So delicious!
As a customer who has ate here for 8+ times, very disappointed at the recent price increase! Mee goreng 13.95 to 15.95 Roti canai beef 13.95 to 15.95 $2 increase per item is asinine. Best Malay food in Vancouver but will not be back.
