Joe's steak shop used to be my go-to steak sandwich. Something is off!! Doesn't seem like the same sandwich. You used to get a steak sandwich filled with meat, onions, cheese, now it seems like you're getting half of what you used to get as far as filling the sandwich with meat. Don't know why family restaurants change but they start cutting corners!!! Not sure I'm going back!!
Great cheese steaks and onion rings
Driving thru Phillipsburg, Main Street this Sunday thinking we haven't been to Joe's since 1990. Ok. I asked Sara, the counter clerk about the meat, the toppings, the sizes etc. She shared some info and we ordered one steak and perogies. I wasn't terribly hungry and waited to see if one bite from my hubs' sandwich would convince me to order another one. I loved the Joe's special sauce, hot. It elevated the taste of the sandwich which would otherwise be a REGULAR one. And so the 8/9" roll was soft and fresh. Not until we ordered the second steak sandwich did I choose to ask for extra cheese because first one barely evident of cheese. Ok. The second sandwich was just as tasty but the 2" end of my roll was void of steak meat. I approached the counter to compliment Red, the cook on that special sauce. I asked if the standard 5 1/2 ounces of meat was used and she told me 8 ounces. If you look at the photos of the loaded steak sandwiches on the review platforms, you'll see the significant differences in amount of meat. That tells me different cook ?
Best delicious steaks ever
