This place has the best burgers. The 1lb stuffed blue cheese and garlic burger was super delicious. The fries that came with it were well made as well. Will definitely be back for the burgers. I saw a few people order the pot pie as well which looked really good. I will have to try it next time as well. This place has a nice old school diner feel.
For this visit we came for dinner as a party of 2. Prompt seating. The appetizer and meals were served concurrently. The food was good, and I especially liked the Fettuccine Alfredo. The waitress never returned to refill drinks. She wanted to give us our check when we entered a desert order, but that turned out to be a mistake. It took a very long time (20 min?)to get our check after we finished, and after we got it, another very long time to take our payment. I usually leave a 20% tip, but honestly, I could not justify that amount this time. The dining room is not super clean but not awful. We will probably return again regardless of the poor service this time. Last visit was a year ago: We came in for a late lunch. You have to wait outside and wait for a text message when your table is ready. The food was really good, as I would expect for a $17 burger. The shakes were $9 each, and we had to wait an hour to get them. I wish they had been a little better value and faster service to earn a 5th star from me. All things considered, we still plan to return. Parking: Parking is free before 10:00 am.
Great food and fantastic staff. Recommend coming early.
So bummed, Jax used to be great. The last 3 times we have been there it is mediocre at best. Staff is awful, laughing and talking with each other, not actually waiting tables. Salad without dressing, hamburger bun burnt. Even our 8 year old thought the food was 'kinda yucky'. Nice atmosphere, fun when a long train goes by.
My server was absolutely amazing. I dined my myself and she made me feel comfortable and was very attentive to me. I was listening to a podcast in headphones, because dining alone is lame, and she was very aware of that and didn’t bother me too much but was very helpful and even chatted with me a bit on the way out. Parking: Super cheap, but you do need to pay with a card or on an app.
The Kobe Beef Meatloaf fantastic. It is a large portion, and I took some home to make a sandwich. Parking: Parking is free after 6 p.m.
