Bought a pastie and a sausage bean and haggis pie, (3.50 each) 2 bread rolls (£1each)and a slice of blue cheese (nearly £4). Pastry was rock hard. Went into the bin. Bread rolls were stale and went into bin. Blue cheese was tasteless. Would I recommend...not at all. I like to shop at local specialist shops whenever possible and if the food is good then I have no problem paying the price but not when the goods are second rate. Very disappointed with this shop☹️. I only ever post what I feel about the items in question and always the truth, good or bad.

Hands down one of the best fruit scones we ever had. It was soft like a sponge - almost mimicking the texture of a cotton candy. Without any sugar and preservatives, we were really able to appreciate what the plain flavours had to offer. The sultana (dry grapes) comelemented it so well. The butter fine tuned the taste and made it more exquisite. Just a pound per scone, with 10p for a butter portion. Definitely recommend to whomsoever visiting Penrith. The staff were pleasant and explained us why we could not store them for more than a day - they are fresh and naturally made. It also tends to get hard as the day passes by. We're glad we found this place.

Best filled rolls and quiche ever. Shame about the Parking Wardens. They drive folk away from town, hovering round cars.

Called in past on way to the Lakes for a sandwich. Excellent choice of fillings, great selection of pies etc. Highly recommend the coronation chicken on brown bread roll. Good filling, very tasty indeed. Will be calling in past on the way back home

Came in for a couple of sandwiches. Absolutely wonderful. Service was fantastic too. Probably the best sandwich I've had.

Hi Came in today for a granary roll it looked lovely in the window display.. When I returned home I couldn't get a knife through it ..it was solid so I decided to give it to the sheep even they wouldn't eat it ..it wasn't even fresh it was like rock .

INCREDIBLE shop. All sorts of amazing delicacies - from the homemade pies, cakes, ham selection, chutneys (Mr Vikki's tomato and nigella seed a special highlight), the toffee shop fudge selection, drinks, coffee beans.. all great taste awards galore. I wish I lived closer

Fantastic produce. Best pasties we've ever had. Also had white chocolate and raspberry muffin which was divine
